Yoooo pantam lovers, some insights... As you can imagine playing with mallets is quite different from playing with your hands. The mallet becomes an extension of you and then the sensibility needs to overcome the extra distance of the mallet. Is no longer your skin sticking the metal but instead a piece of white fluffy material attached to a stick. That apparently looks soft and inoffensive, however, if at any moment you use the mallets without awareness you can easily detune a note because of too much strength. So be extra careful and mindful of that while playing. Something that helps a lot is to not push the mallet down, just let it fall on the note with some control. That will be more than enough to generate a good-sounding and beautiful tone from the note. Happy playing *

Very interesting sound with those particular mallets (‘cause other brands exist already). It’s nicely warm and subtle. 🙂 Well done Yishama team (and Kabe for the playing/exploration).

Beautiful! Noticed that there are varying intensities with regard to the striking of the mallets. Is there a danger of making the pan go,out of tune,?
@YishamaPantam3 жыл бұрын
As long as you dont strike in a very strong intensity it should be ok, we picked the mallets which have the best touch with the handpan, not too soft not too strong

Played with mallets, even soft ones, it is no longer a handpan, which is a failed attempt to copy the Hang, the original Swiss sound sculpture by PANArt.
