I find that even though the shape and geometry of a build could be flat and boring a good paint job can still make it really great. Also, I've done many things to my ships but the whole thing where you encased the hull in your own shape has inspired me! Kick-butt builds Keralis!

Need more Ylandium dust? If you have the locksmith table and plenty of iron and charcoal, you can just craft a ton of Paint Guns and destroy them to get 5 Ylandium dust from each Paint Gun. After that, you can build all the charging station, engine and generators you want/need.

Coming from the west coast of Norway and having taken a lot of ferrys to get anywhere... I really like the colour design on the top Keralis, it's very life-like in many ways. Everything on ferrys is painted so it won't rust because of the water, and I really like how you did the deck. ^_^ Good job! (also ferrys tend to ram the harbour to get close enough for the cars to get safely on/off, so you're good!)

An episode refining your house would be great. We haven’t seen the inside of it for a while now. Maybe extend it and have an Art Gallery with all the art loot that you have found? The buildings are great though and the base is taking shape nicely. The lighthouse is fantastic but it would be good if you could walk round at the top as a viewing point like a real light house! Great all the same and your creations are inspiring!

4 engines is enough for a small hull, you can place more, but it will not affect the speed. About the superstructure, you can move bridge a bit forward and make it in the middle overhanging the car deck.

Keralis, I'm pretty sure the biomes are based on their locations on the map, like the polar biomes are usually found on the most North or South part of the ocean. Next to it are tundras, woods, deserts, and finally jungles in the middle. It's like in real life. The Arctic and Antarctic are both found on the polar caps, and jungles are mostly found on the equator. Well, here's the chart thingy here, if it actually implies: POLAR (polar caps) TUNDRA WOODS, DESERT JUNGLE (equator) WOODS, DESRT TUNDRA POLAR (polar caps). I never played the game, to be honest

I didn't see it in the video but you can take cars on boats, well kind of. I built a yacht that had space for my car a week or so ago and if you use sideways doors. The car will be stopped by them. Make a little bay with doors on all 4 sides, so it keeps the car nice and snug and then you can sail away. It seems to really bug out if you try and reverse as my yacht was nearly completely submerged. Going forward and turning didn't seem to be a problem though. So it does work. ;) steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1249026466 - In case my explanation didn't make much sense.

Dr Keralis.... yet again another amazing video. You nailed the colours of the ferry mate, if you need more dust make1/2 containers and or chests and you can duplicate them in map editor. I now have 120 dust doing this, it's a bit cheaty but unless you have lots of those crystals or 120 mutated animals it's a goer. Thank you for showing a bit of building online, I think you've found a nice balance of skipping and showing progress reports :) I'm challenging myself to a house made of marble in the next days, not sure if you've had a look but I love the different objects they let you build with. Last point, think you can be a bit critical of you're buildings at times, I think you do a fantastic job... must be your mine craft days. Roughly how many more episodes are you looking at doing? Would love to see a gun shop/factory.. you can make signs and all sorts with them Have a great day mate. Cheers from Australia

Keralis Small Steam Engines run on both coal and charcoal as well as wood pieces! The best and easiest way to refuel your steam engines is to have either your coal or charcoal in a coal basket and have the coal basket in your hand. It takes only 20 charcoal for each engine as opposed to 100 wood pieces... So, I am guessing that the coal/charcoal is five times more fuel efficient. Also, for storage on your ships! You can make the wood cabinets and lower them all the way down into the deck of the ship or the floor on which you are working. They will clip right through and you can make them nearly flush with the floor surface and cram a whole lot of storage capacity into a very small space! By turning those same cabinets so that the doors face upwards, you can make them appear as the ship's hold. You can even overlap them --but that makes accessing them just a bit more tricky if they are too close together or if you overlap too many together.

I don’t know if you’ll see this Keralis, but I think a cool idea would be to have like a big gate or something on the front of your bay, I think it would look really cool. But I don’t know that’s up to you! The ferry and Black Earl look amazing, I can only dream of building something like that!
@JackDander7 жыл бұрын
The water line is as low as you can go. Or at least one tile under such that the water effect is just over it. You can turn wood pieces in to charcoal! Infinite amounts of coal from trees.
@3DPDK7 жыл бұрын
Here's the deal folks: In 3D modeling there are two coordinate systems used to locate and move objects; "local" and "global". Anything with animations that move the object's location, ie, animals, cars, the small boat etc, use a global location to track it's "translation" movement (moving from one location to another), while static objects are located relative to the "parent" object's center axis they are attached to, or "local" location. An object like a block of wood or a storage bin placed on the deck of the ship becomes attached to the ship (DirectX calls it the parent frame) as long as it is touching the parent object and so moves relative to the movement of the ship. A horse or car that can "translate" never becomes attached to the ship and remains globally located so when the ship moves the program doesn't know to move the car or horse along with it. When your character is actively steering the ship he has become locally located relative to the ship's center axis. or attached to the "parent" ship as a "child" object. His ability to "translate" has been disabled while steering the ship This is all done in DirectX (or OpenGL) and not the game engine itself. The developers HAVE apparently written code to make it possible to move the character around the deck while sailing by constantly updating his location relative to the ship, but if you noticed that sometimes it can be a little glitcy when you eat or perform some other extra character animation. This simple location distinction plagued the programmers at Second Life for years and even in current games like Empyrion, Stranded Deep and Subnautica, and its why riding elevators and cars and airplanes as they move around in the game's world never seem to work quite right without being glitchy. It's why developers resort to ladders and elevators that teleport or sometimes magically elevate the character rather than code a complex "locally relative" translation algorithm. To the devs: This should be fairly simple, just disable animations for the object when placed on the boat and attach it to the boat's parent frame. When it's removed or the player mounts the object, simply re-establish it's global location (same as spawning the object the first time) and re-enable animations, but only if the ship is anchored.
@3DPDK7 жыл бұрын
Now ... my hobby has been 3D animation for 15 years but my career was boat building and running boats as a licensed captain (now retired). Trust me, this is fine looking short range ferry boat. You need a white light on the mast, a white light (glowing mushroom works well) on the stern (back of the boat), a red light on the left side bow (port -forward) and a green light on the right side bow (starboard - forward) Unfortunately the Ilandium crystal is the only green light in the game and there are precious few of those. Glowing mushrooms can also be used as deck lights. You've got me wondering if a tug boat could be made to push a barge. If so, that would open many options for transporting large amounts of materials from one island to another. Hopefully the devs will work on making vehicles and animals transportable - I hate leaving my horses behind! ;)
