If you want to see Ylvis completely on edge, you have to see "Pie Jesu", where they completely take off - and the audience laughs even though what is unfolding on stage is anything but ordinary comedy.

Ylvis can pretty much make comedy out of anything 😂 And I also love how they are pulling the audience into the bit. When I first watched it, I got so invested in Vegard doing it well, so when he does it that last time, it's so incredibly satisfying. Since I moved from Norway when I was 10, I can't speak to wheather it's taught in norwegian schools. I got that information from google 😅

Ylvis / Ylvisåker brothers are also from the west coast- Bergen - like Aurora- and their lives the funniest people 😂. In English it’s not possible to hear the changes in dialects they do

Word by word, there's not a marked difference between 1800 and 2000s Norwegian. It's just a little "pompous" sounding, sort of like Shakespeare, just with less difference (Shakespeare is much older of course). With exception of some words that must rhyme and some that are out of style, any differences can easily be handled on the fly, choosing either modern or older conventions. The big challenge, is to make it not sound ironic, due to being so pompous (by modern standards). In this case, that would not have been a problem - ironic would be fine.
