They had recieved hate mail from a random guy who was mad that they hadn't included anything about Jan Egelands birthday which was on the same day as one of their episodes. They responded by making this extremely over the top tribute which is hilarious!

Daniel Slade every correction is a step to a better Internet. ;)
@shirazqaddoumi73209 жыл бұрын
Eivind Ludviksen actually, "That moment when a song is written as a joke becomes one of your favorite" is completely incorrect, even moreso than the original. The original has the correct word in the wrong tense, but yours has an extra word. It should be "that moment when a song written as..." not IS written. If you did not mean "is" as part of the sentence, you meant to say "It [the correct word] is written," then you are still wrong because "is written" is a meaningless sentence fragment. I think the lesson here should be, refrain from correcting other people's grammar online - unless you are pointing out that a correction is in fact wrong and should never have been made. From your name it looks like English might be your second language, if so that is awesome and you know twice as many languages as most americans, (I know Spanish at least,) so be happy with that and don't bother saving internet grammar.

Trust me, Jan Egeland. works hard behind the scenes for humanitarian aid to refugees and the poor worldwide. He is now the Secretary General of the Norwegian Refugee Council, NRC (prior to that he has worked with human rights, conflict resolution and emergency aid. He has been Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Director of Human Rights Watch Europe,, Secretary General of the Norwegian Red Cross aso). NRC is now scaling up its work inside Ukraine and in neighboring countries to help people who have been forced to flee. Over the past three weeks, the organization has sent relief teams to Ukraine, Poland, Moldova and Romania. NRC now provides welcome centers and hot meals to thousands of people in Lviv, western Ukraine. In Warsaw, Poland, a transit center will be built at the main railway station, which the organization will run together with partners. The Norwegian Refugee Council's team also provides information and legal assistance to help Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian displaced persons gain protection and access to important services in several places in Ukraine. In the coming weeks, NRC will distribute emergency aid in the form of cash directly to thousands of displaced mothers and fathers in Ukraine, so that they can cover the basic needs of themselves and their families. NRC also works to ensure that Ukrainian refugees have a safe place to sleep and that children can go to school. In addition, the organization has started emergency relief operations to Ukraine from neighboring countries and has so far delivered food and other emergency relief along the escape routes. - Our brave colleagues work day and night under extreme conditions to meet the growing needs of exhausted children, women and men. We have used or allocated all the money (many hundreds of millions) received from Norwegian fund raising/private donors and from the Norwegian government, to help displaced and conflict-affected Ukrainians. Without more and faster funding from more donor countries, we will run out of resources to continue the emergency relief work by April, says Egeland. The Norwegian Refugee Council's emergency aid plan aims to help 800,000 people in Ukraine and neighboring countries over the next six months, with a total cost of around NOK 700 million. No wonder this guy deserves an own song 🙂

Red Do Yes, I'm still listening to it. I fell in love with this song before ? two years, I think, I respect Ylvis and their other work, but this song is something extraordinary.in many aspects. And I find it so interesting and beautiful, that really think I'll never stop listening to it.

+iva sky The thing about Ylvis is that even though they make this for commedy and parody sake, they put a lot of work into the song making it great without the commedy/parody part. Great singing, melody,. riffs, solos and singing.

Got my wife of 50 years hooked on these guys. She couldn't stand the The Fox song but I convinced her to listen to some of the others. She's addicted now and loves everything they do from the train horn on the electric car to Mass without produce.... They are amazing,

The best thing is that it's not supposed to be serious song, but it still beats the shit out of nowadays "artists" like Lil Wayne, Nicky Minaj, Justin Bieber etc. :)

Haha! This comment nails it so completely! (But I find Justin Bieber a very good singer. And he has some fantastic songs...) Thanks for this wonderful comment! And. Thumbs up for Egeland!

It might not be aimed to be a serious song, but apposed to today's musicians who only sing about the size of their genitals and the amount of drugs they take, this song at least has something to say: It honors a great man who (although not as overdone as in the song) works as hard as he can to regain peace on this earth

BoarhideGaming very true, its nice to see a good song like this dedicated to someone who actually deserves the recognition, I would rather see more songs like this than some girl singing a generic song about an ex boyfriend or songs ofnhe "shake yo bootay" variety

To give some niche background info behind the video, the concert footage is from 9th of June 2012 (9.6.2012) on the 'Viking Stadion', where they opened for the Norwegian Rock band mods. An offer they initially declined, but later accepted once they realized they could use the footage for the music video. The members on stage are, of course, the brothers themselves, along with Kato Ådland on guitar, Lars Bleiklie Devik on Keys, Espen Lien on Bass and the likely more recognizable Tarjei Strøm (of 'Ralph Myerz and the Jack Herren Band' and 'Datarock' fame) on drums.
