You can see how much this drummer has influenced Steve Jansen from the band Japan. YMO is phenomenal and underrated

Fantastic live version of a fantastic song. The drums are UNBELIEVABLE. When this came out in Europe, they were pretty unknown here. I was surprised to see the big expensive stage in this video. It seems like they were much more popular in Japan than I thought.

Adrian Belew (who played guitar on Ryuichi's "Left Handed Dream" album) said that he felt like YMO was bigger than the Beatles during that time in Japan
