Yeah, I think it was really dumb recommending he start with the trick axe, the windup attack is such a crutch in the starting area it creates a really bad habit it new players. The saw cleaver is the best for first time players, it teaches you how to properly play the game.
@adsventuresome75112 жыл бұрын
It's funny, the same thing happened in the Beard Bros playthrough with the axe. It's the true noob trap weapon of the game because it's not actually good and people that keep using it are too stubborn to let go of the spin to win. It's too high risk high reward. The axe has shit range in 1 hand, and no crowd control ability in 2 hand outside of the spin.

Ikr. He wants to just finish the game, not realizing that just fighting different bosses with the methods they are most weak to will save the most time. But, against Crucible Knights and Alecto, i would parry as the main mechanic. And against stone bosses, Id use magic breath instead of rot breath. Not every situation requires an Axe lol. Still, these games are long and I dont blame Adum for liking to coop. Coop is fun

I enjoyed his dark souls 1 plaze but this one's hard to watch after a couple hours. The lengths he goes trying to pretend he isn't cheating by using a glitch dungeon. Constantly relying on chat for REALLY basic stuff he can't be bothered to remember or simply look over at and see for himself. The Lady Maria fight sums up Adam’s entire mindset with Bloodborne extremely well. He says he’s not making progress and not having fun, but never changes his approach to the fight itself. Says that she doesn’t let him heal (why would she let you heal lol) while he doesn’t rally enough, and the consistent refusal to parry at all because he doesn’t want to learn a hugely helpful mechanic of the game. It’s a strangely perfect example of someone wanting to play Bloodborne like Dark Souls 1, but then getting frustrated when it punishes him for not adapting.
@darbling3112 жыл бұрын
Your talking as if he didn't die a million times doing the exact same shtick that he did in DS1. Spamming firebombs, not learning/remembering simple game mechanics and refusing to learn patterns will get you killed in any of the games. Just look at any of his other soulsbourne game playthrus.

Eh, when it comes to Rom, there are kind of 2 completely viable strategies: bum rush her and ignore the spiders, or patiently take out all the little spiders before attacking Rom. There are pros and cons to each strategy, you have to do some crowd control of the little spiders (baiting them away from Rom and running in when you have the space) and pay attention to them and Rom at the same time if you bum rush, whereas the more patient strategy takes longer and therefore opens yourself up to making more mistakes. Also it makes the last couple phases of the fight harder cause you have to avoid more of Rom's attacks, and preferably have to stay pretty close to her so she doesn't do the meteor attack.

I think the horseboys biggest problem is his lack of confidence. He's not confident in his ability to learn anything through trial and error or the presentation of the game, or maybe he doesn't think it's worth his time. At every point in the run he asks chat questions, instead of tackling the challenge head on. This is also Chats fault, because instead of telling him to just figure stuff out, they backseat him for stuff he doesn't even need, like Chat telling him to do Chalice dungeons, when he hasn't even beaten Cleric Beast. Just in the first 20 minutes, no player in their right mind would ever farm echoes for Cleric Beast, yet Adum is so scared of it, that he thinks he has to farm. It just seems like everything in the game is a chore to him, and although it's kind of enjoyable to watch him fail, I sometimes just feel sad for him.

In honor of this all-in-one video, I'll just make this an all-in-one comment that I can edit over time: - It's a shame that more people didn't advise Adam to try parrying from a distance. Imo, parrying in BB is generally much easier and safer than DS1 because you can do it from far away. So if you mess up the timing, you can (usually) just try to shoot again or dodge away. Then again, it's fun to see a different approach/playstyle. - That Gascoigne first try was sick - I'm loving the wacky sound effects when someone gets bonked - DAAAAAMN, first try Amelia?! gamer. - It's tempting to criticize Adam for not seeing stuff like the status effect bars, but then again he is simultaneously working out and tending to chat and playing a very dark game on a projector, so really we should all be impressed that he plays as well as he does lmao - I really appreciate fanboy showing when Adam contradicts himself or misremembers what chat said - I predict he will hate the chalice dungeons - ...yeah that went about as expected by the end, lol - omgwtf he also solo'd Gherman first try? I guess it was all those extra levels making him a tank, but it was still impressive Mad props to fanboy, his sense of pacing/editing and his style of humor are super top tier. Thanks for all the content bois.

"I don't know how long an animation takes on an item", no shit, use it and learn like others did. "How am I supposed to know when to use overhead strikes" If you're above an enemy, or below it, use an overhead strike to hit it because a horizontal one will probably miss. "Using a glitched dungeon is no different than farming souls" Yes it is, when you farm you can learn how to do things like parrying, using different weapons to see if they're any good, try new strategies etc. Exploiting a glitch to get easy souls/blood isn't remotely the same thing. Same end result doesn't mean you got the same value from it. *Dies a bunch of times from constantly using the charge spin attack rather than just normal strikes* So frustrating to see this over and over, then he complains when he gets hit due to using a move that takes forever to charge...ugh. I don't care about From Software games, I really don't, but even I can see where he's fucking up, not paying attention and refusing to adapt. I agree that the game is cryptic in many ways but he blatantly misses SO much obvious information that's presented to him onscreen. That said, I've enjoyed all these highlights of Souls games, it's weirdly compelling despite Adam's quirks.

I never thought about it that way. Adum makes no effort to play the game the way it was intended to, which made him unintentionally avoid learning important game mechanics, and when the game required him to use the skills he should've learned by then he burns and crashes. I think the most infuriating part is when he looses he immediately blames external factors and not the fact he basically just used one attack for the majority of the game. But what if that was done on purpose? What if he was ignoring how to play the game properly and was intentionally pissing himself off to distract from the fact that he is exercising? Iirc that is why he plays hard games while exercising. When you get pissed that he spent almost an hour fighting the same boss or going through the same map over and over again, remember that he is on an exercise bike pedalling away. So in a way, its good I guess?
@PaperThin_2 жыл бұрын
In the end I think its really about time. Adum is only really willing to play and exercise for 1-2 hours and chooses to skip the parts he doesnt like.

"when you farm you can learn how to do things like parrying, using different weapons to see if they're any good, try new strategies etc." lmao no one bothers to learn parrying while farming tho or changing weapons. especially in souls games where upgrade materials are always sparse enough that you are gonna have one weapon that is clearly stronger than others

When adum eventually plays sekiro the playthrough needs to have Scoot from beginning to end with original Japanese audio, imagine the overflow of racist jokes

He did play sekiro. Never finished. there's a video on youtube with him playing it. The salt was legendary.

If only Adam could learn to decipher between winding up and lunging forward. His mindset that every millisecond from movement to contact is winding up is absolutely hilarious but killing his ability to parry at all.

imagine being adum fighting laurence at the end of old hunters, having a maxed out minigun, loving stupid spam attacks, and NOT just spraying the monster to finish it off at range when it's spewing lava. never change, adum

As somebody who sucks at Bloodborne I can confidently say Adum is really bad. It’s like he holds R2 down as soon as an encounter starts. Also I really liked the editing.

It's so strange that Adam thinks that grinding blood echoes is what is expected of him whenever he encounters a challenge like it's an early final fantasy game.

Adum is without a doubt one of the worst soulsborne players I’ve ever seen, and it makes for one of the most entertaining playthroughs I’ve ever seen. Absolutely legendary, doing god’s work Adum. Also, props to the editor for an awesome job!

Good job adam and thank you fanboy for the extremely lengthy editing process on this one. This is for sure your best adumplaze video since starting these COMPLETED playthroughs. So fucking entertaining with the Twitch chat, and the reused jokes and edits just got funnier. Dig the super long content too

2:57:51 AND 3:15:53 were some of the most intense moments to watch ever on AdumPlaze I felt that Also: yeah sure, Adum IS in fact grinding this a whole fkin lot jeez But then again, if that's the way he wants to play it, I guess that's what one signed up for. Still... mad 🐴 is usually funny but this felt especially toxic in a way. I mean, sure there are always dumb comments in the chat but jeez Adum, please stop being so rude against your fan base. Like there are legit a lot of people that try to help. And it always makes me kinda sad when SO tries to give you tips and help and you call them "liar" or "full of shit" as soon as something doesn't work right away.

Adam, I love that you get SO frustrated with these games at the beginning, but you keep playing them. Truly the magic of FromSoftware games. I'm the same way. My wife would often hear me shouting in the other room, but it was just like my inner monologue spilled out. I'd be *thinking* "Oh, I'm definitely not in range of this grab attack", then get grabbed, and just shout "I WAS NOT! I WAS *NOT*!"

Let's Plays are like marriages sometimes. You look at the two divorced people and wonder, "Why'd you even get married? You *never* saw this coming? Really, never?" And it can be the same between a player and a game. "Why did Adam play this at all if he was going to take so many long breaks and end up so far removed from when he started that he didn't care anymore? Was there no way he could've scheduled it better? Was there not some better way to handle it?" etc.
