This game was being made as the film was still in production. That's the reason for the Gorilla and the level as adult Simba through the fire cave, they're deleted concepts from the movie. The game designers had to fight pretty hard to keep the fire cave level because they worked so hard on it.

@PeninsulaPaintings2 жыл бұрын
@@whynotll83 It's not that weird. Games take many months of development, it makes sense that they wanted the game to be released as soon as the movie was, so that sales reflect the film's success and peak popularity. So that gorilla boss is actually a leftover from the movie. The game was developed as the movie was being storyboard, and at one point the movie was going to have a gorilla character. But it was eventually removed from the film, but the game developers fought to keep it in the final game as they spent time on it. This is also why half of Adult Simba’s levels are not movie accurate since it was part of Simba’s journey back to the Pridelands which was significantly shortened in the final movie.

Context on the Mufasa death scene for those who did not live through it. I watched this movie in theaters. My own younger sister and 16 other children had to be taken out of the theater by parents when Mufasa died. That shit was unexpected and apparently traumatizing for a sizable percentage of children. Most additional media skipped showing Mufasa dying because of the reported trauma rate in children watching a cartoon lion dad being murdered. I remember crying in the theater, but I realized that was the appropriate reaction to a "death." I could figure it out in my head at 10 that the appropriate reaction is sad, but not too sad because it's pretend on screen.
