I want to thank you guys for all your videos. I watch everyday. And attempting what I see. I posted it on Facebook. You guys have helped me so much in relearning the process gain. I went to wilford academy in mid 70xs. I didn't finish. I was only 16 at that time. In February this year, i picked my brushes back up again. Unfortunately I am on a fixed income. So school isn't an option for me I do have alot if hours in already. I would love to be part of of online courses. If u can get some info. Hopefully I will be able to become part of young nails team. Again thanks for your videos. Been a huge help.

Great class! I just wish I could get half as good as Greg with the liquid to powder ratio. You barely have to do any filing at all! Amazing skills! XO
@lovebug63886 жыл бұрын
Jane Cotelos, you can! One way to do so is to take a sheet of paper, draw circles on it, laminate it, and practice making acrylic balls on it of different sizes. The goal is to have the balls stay inside the circles you've drawn. You can wipe them off when done and do it again. Hope this helps! 💅🏼

i’ve been doing nails for almost 3 years now, i’ve had issues with lifting off and on during the time and usually i can find the issue eventually but here lately i’ve gone back to basics over and over and i’ve taken extra time to access each client i have lifting issues with and it always is during application, the cuticle area will be flush, not too thick (only using one bead in the cuticle never adding more), im not pushing the acrylic toward to cuticle, prep is perfect (i take pride in my prep ), and filing is minimal. but usually after hand filing the side walls and shaping i notice the corners of the cuticle will start to lift. i try not to file harshly or with too my pressure but it stills seems to haunt me. i’m starting to think maybe my recent location change has caused some issues, since it started after the move. but i’m not sure why’s because i’ve dealt with temperature changes many times and always adjust accordingly. any advice would be helpful, even my boss can’t figure out what my issue is and i’ve practiced on her to show 😭
@maciphillips94195 ай бұрын
also to add: i’ve changed brushes, primers, and only use young nail and not polish products and have only used those products for acrylic application the entire time

Are you using the full product line (YN Swipe, 2 coats Protein Bond, liquid & powder) or are you mixing product lines? Even using a different brand of prime with YN products can cause lifting.

Prjewelsgrl00 I self taught gel polish and have moved on to builder in a bottle and an e-file. I would love to get my hands on gel but quality products are impossible to find if you don’t have a license.

Try Nailite.com They have great hard gel and their brand of acrylics is very good. ( I use Nailite Omega powder and liquid) Also, for really cheap- try AliExpress and buy Canni hard gel. Canni has great products and their Gel polishes come in all colors-- well worth the wait for shipping. Premier nails has great products too. Hope this helps

Hi young nails! I'm learning how to do acrylics on myself, but I'm coming across lifting from my free edge growth underneath, how do I stop that from happening without cutting my nails and doing a new set.

My lifting comes mainly from the free edge and I cap, but I'm new and my grandma works in a hospital. Is there any advice due to major chemicals?

What file grit do you recommend for the hand file during finishing when you have a nice, clean, application already (and dont really have to remove bulk)? I find that overfiling tends to be an issue for me and makes breakage that much more likely. Im thinking Im being too aggressive when its not really needed.
@lovebug63886 жыл бұрын
minxmade, 150-180 to remove imperfections, 240 to smooth it out real good, and 600 to prep it for buffing. If you are having consistent breakage, consider building the nail just a smidge thicker to account for the filing, the age of products and or the formulation of the line you are using. I switched lines when my go to product changed their monomer and powder rather than just adding another option. And, if the breakage is occurring a few days after you do your client's nails and considering where the nail is breaking, it could be something that they are doing that they aren't telling as well.

Do you have a video how to take off tips and acrylic safely without damage to natural nails?
