This is a much better technique than dual forms. I have never liked the way dual forms sit at the cuticle, always makes me feel like the nail is to fake looking. With your technique.. you get to sculpt your own cuticle area.. perfect! I can’t wait to try this technique 👍🏼
@kristinaleonov48112 жыл бұрын
You can use dual forms the same way, and it's pop off more easily. It only depends on the form of dual tips, you have so many different types so you can choose one that looks more natural and fits to your nail plate. This kind of tips sometimes stick to the gel and it's very hard to take it off, sometimes it hurts a lot.

Oooo so this is the video where you guys were talking about getting hate and missunderstanding your passion. I don't think its condescending, I like how it's at a pace that someone learning can understand. It feels like when Greg says "okay" that hes trying to emphasize that we are understanding. When saying okay it's more of a question rather than a statement.. like, are you understanding? Is this a good pace? Please don't change your teaching style. I don't see the infomercial aspect to it at all. I like seeing your personalities and teaching styles. You 3 are the winning trifecta of nail school.

I am at the end of my nail career getting close to retirement. With that being said, I am appalled at some of the comments I have read from some of you. Just rude. Greg, I hope you continue to teach the way you do and show excitement like you do about different techniques. New or not. I for one have not ever used dual forms or tips like this so I enjoyed learning something different! Keep up the good work. I absolutely love learning from you guys. Okay?! 😘😂😁

zamis21 just look up dual forms on KZbin and you will see many many people do this exact same technique with both gel and acrylic. Dual forms habe been around for years.. there is nothing new about this technique except he used a tip instead of a dual form which is just a tip with guide lines on it. Disappointed they tried to call this a new idea and make it their own since I've had a set of dual forms for well over 3 years. You can find a bunch of tutorials here on KZbin for dual forms though... dont know why they didn't check and make sure this hadn't been done already.

yes i have seen several on youtube but they all struggle to remove the fake nail from the polygel. his popped right off. so im here to see what he did diff. its might be a game changer to use an already shaped nail over dual forms

Dude. You just saved me so much money. I was going to get the Apres X system but I got all those gels in my large mystery box (both of them 😂) but if I can use those then I am all over that!! Thank you!!! PS this is why I rarely read the comments on videos. Bunch of Monday morning quarterbacks "That's not new, you're being disrespectful, you didn't invent that!" He didn't say he did! It is new to some people, like myself, AND it's new to them as they haven't ever shown this technique before. Sure though, go ahead and crap all over them for taking the time to show this to us for free when they could be keeping it to themselves like a lot of KZbin Nail people do and say "pay for my class and I'll show you." *rant over

Apres x nails is the worst purschase I ever made. All my clients hate it coz the pre-made tips are so uncomfortable, either too large or too small. I think I’m gonna try this technique now.

Apres X system SUCKS my clients hate them & I'm not very fond of them either. Its kinda hard to take a "one size fits all" gel tip & make it fit everyone.

William Pereyra fairly certain this technique was not invented by anyone on KZbin or Instagram. This is the kind of technique that occurs to dozens of people organically and slowly makes it's way back to companies and internet techs.

Omg... When he said with practice u will achieve perfection. That is so true and on point! I love the way he said that. When I first started nails, like the first 5 times I did them I was like this isn't for me, I can't get it as good as everybody else, Im way to off and was losing hope but not even 10 times of "practicing" (perfect way to describe it) I started getting better an learned how to correctly use and clean the brush during working, which I used to think it was impossible to use one brush thru one full service without it getting and staying dirty, and shape the nails cirrectly and faster and now I can't get enough of it and looove doing nails.

Thank you for taking the time to film this. I agree partially with other commenters that it’s a revamp of dual forms but what I appreciate is you guys making us aware that any full cover/well-less tip can be used and that is great knowledge to have as it will make fit so much easier to not be limited by dual forms. This people know very well what they do! This is the way how people should teach others, they teach with technique, precision, patience, making the subject interesting and very easy to understand, and for us to assimilate the lesson. They know how to emphasize the key points, which we assimiliate very easily and quick and without loosing interest on the subject. Even for me that I never did gel nails.It is very rare to find people with these teaching characteristics, who immediately put the matter in our head, we do not forget what they explained, they are professionals, in my view, more than excellent. They manage the profession with passion and interest in what they teach. In my view, what they do is placing themselves in the place of those who do not know about the matter, like me, and teaching us right from the start of the lesson, and also for those who already practice the profession and want to improve the techniques They, in my view, have a natural tendency towards teaching and have found an exceptional way to teach those who do not know what to do. Excellent videos.

I occasionally use this technique when I’m short of time for doing my own nails. I’m very lucky I’m ambidextrous but I’d imagine this technique with either tips or dual forms makes it a lot easier to do your own dominant hand with your non-dominant hand. With how much even the pros here on KZbin seem to dread doing that I’d imagine techs would welcome a faster, simpler technique. 👌🏻😍

As usual, no one teaches as thoroughly or with as much technical knowledge as YN. First time I've seen this technique with a tip instead of a dual form and it makes so much more sense. I'm wondering if you could sort of flash cure and then pinch the gel with the tip? Or if the tip would just separate immediately.

Was the underneath thick as it looked like so in the video? Thank you 😊
@heatherwelberry16 жыл бұрын
Get dual forms and they can be used for acrylic and gel and are a tiny bit thicker. They also have little nubs on the sides that you use to remove them instead of needing a pinching tool. They are made specifically for this use and have been around for years. You can get them at sally's or on eBay or aliexpress for next to nothing like 10 different sizes in a set. They are perfect for this technique with gel or acrylic and work like a charm. They even have little lines marked on them you can use to make sure each nail is sculpted to the exact same length and shape before you place them. They also have a deeper bend in them to allow for a bit thicker application in the apex area for stronger nails eliminating the need for another layer on top after you remove this piece. You put everything inside the dual form and when you take it off the nail you have a perfectly smooth ready to polish nail after some edge filing. Its a much quicker method and you can find hundreds of videos showing the use of dual forms... almost exactly whay he does here except for the extra layer on top and the extra filing... here on KZbin. Just look up dual form. Will take a two hour application to well under an hour once you practice and get good with them. Not a new idea by any means. I've had mine for over 3 years now. But it was a great thought.

Everyone saying it isn't new...it's dual forms etc sure but it's new for young nails!!! And Greg and Tracy show it can be done with a nail tip as opposed to a special dual forms bought specifically for this techbique. I did a video on this two months ago! Just with dual forms or popits if you will call it that. I got yelled about for NOT putting my dual forms all the way up to the cuticle area. But as you, I wanted to show that you can use them as tips and then fill them in. In that video I used polygel, but I have also used them with regular gels on the set that I have on right now. So guys, I am glad that you are keeping up with the trends...eventually, lol 😉😉👍

Rinie Cassteele-Koedijk Great! I am so glad that you did your research on this😁👍 Just beware that the cheap dual forms that you can get everywhere online does not fit all nails. They are a bit on the small side and if you have high c-curves on your nails they may not cover the sides on your nails. If they do not fit you, I guess that I have the link to the YS nails dual forms from Wish in my video. Good luck on your adventure ! Xoxo 💕

The use of dual forms have been around for years for acrylic and gel. They are basically tips just like these but with little lines printed on them so you can make all the nails the same length. This is so far from new it's odd that such educated men would try and claim it as their own idea. Off putting really.

Dual forms can also be done with acrylic

I started doing mine like this a couple months ago except I placed the clear nail as close to the cuticle and slightly applied pressure to get all the air bubbles out. There was some gel that escaped from the edges of the clear nail but by me not going completely to the cuticle, it wasn't an issue to buff away. I used to pay a nail technician $50 every other week but now I do them myself (sorry Katie! I love you but...well, you know...lol). I decided 6 months ago that I was done forking out $100+ a month. Before I started using full nail forms, I was building my nails with paper forms. This way is so much faster and easier. Plus, doing the full nail eliminates most filling and shaping. I love this way and it looks so good!

This is such an awesome technique. I know it will take serious practice, especially in my case. My question is... would it, could it even be possible to do a French using this technique or the duel form technique?? One thing is for sure it would be a hella challenge. If the grandmaster is up for it, I would die to see it done! Thank you for all the nail school and biz talk videos, they are priceless and the best inspiration and motivation.

I just love watching Greg work. I hope this doesn't come out mean, I prefer Greg's work over Tracy's. I've watch enough videos to be able to compare, and when Greg teaches it and explains it, my brain just grasps onto the information better.

Very cool! I have dual forms, but hard to fit my wide nails👍😊

Dual forms have such a high c-curve! I've tried every which way with them: more gel, less gel, no form underneath, a form underneath. I do just need to try a tip that works with my nail.

Tracy U check aliexpress pls. I found some grait dualforms in 14 sizes. I cant even use sizes 0 to 4 coz they are way to big for my nails.

So when doing a full set of nails you can put 5 nails on then cure or is it best to do one at a time? Do you have a clear build gel that has the same consistency as the pink concealer.

Wouldn't your free edge be so thick and uneven underneath?
@jnorlem80505 жыл бұрын
banannahannah the whole nail is sooooo THICK, right??!? Under & on top both. Ick. Cheap = Trash. U get what u pay for. I’ll keep going to high end salons, thank u. I’m supporting the economy amyway.😁💅🏻💵
@rebeccajay22622 жыл бұрын
@boss - not necessarily. It's up to the artist's personal technique. But, if the free edge does end up a bit thick, simply smooth and even it out before curing. Greg's looked GREAT, not thick at all. He's obviously been working on this for a while. In fact, I actually prefer it a teeny bit thicker.

dual forms nothing new. i have been using this for acrylic years ago. but still prefer regular forms cuz then i know that i have Perfect smooth bottom of nails and nice c curve.
@heatherwelberry16 жыл бұрын
floxy me too. Dual forms are also thicker and allow everything done in one layer along with far less filing and a great c curve I don't know why anyone would want to use a flimsy tip and start halfway down the nail.
@Creepynightmarre6 жыл бұрын
I don't really know how to feel about this. nail after this is still thin there is no apax you still need to build and shape this nail and double cure gel with a form. its the same time as doing with paper forms. also i like to use pinching tool.
@Key_11116 жыл бұрын
floxy Use paper forms under to get a smooth perfect bottem and still use the dual form.

NO! These are NOT dual forms. The look very similar, but you'll get a COMPLETELY different result. He's using a clear full cover tip. And yes, acrylic can also be used
