What is the purpose of putting protein bond on after you already completed the nail? Are you suppose to do the same with acrylic?

Applying Protein Bond after the nail is completed is done for a couple of reasons. It smooths out and fills in any little scratches you may have from filing and buffing. It really increases the clarity of glitter and clear cap so that when you apply the top coat it's crystal clear. It also prevents any gel products, such as gel polish or top coat, from pulling away from the cuticle area or chipping. I love Protein Bond and it makes a big difference in the finished product! Is base similar to bond? Meaning it provides additional adhesion or do you just use it on natural nails?

Base gel is the base you need for our synergy gel (hard gel) line similar to using a base coat before gel polish.

@youngnailsinc ok cause I was taught base i only needed on natural nails before polish So that's why I was wondering if it is for added adhesion I guess all lines are different I'd be curious to test that with one hand using base before hard gel and one without and compare nail retention

Silk nails are not a product we carry, but most likely, you would prep just as you would any other enhancement (push back cuticles, remove shine, cleanse)

Protein bond is a non acid primer.. it doesn’t chemically etch the nail like a traditional primer does. Protein stays sticky.. sticks to the natural nail and then sticks the product. Here is a video on Protein Bond & how to use it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYqbfKmMgK-fh6c

I'm sure that they entered you in the giveaway opportunity if you submitted your entry, but that's not a guarantee that you would win it.
