I have to mention Tony MacAlpine and Vinnie Moore. Oh and don't forget about Chris Impelliteri. Those guys come off nicer and not so brash shall I say. Although it's really just a swedish thing and it's funny he doesn't like donuts. Man I like me some raspberry filled and the Boston Creme filled from Dunkin Donuts.

I remember watching this interview . Radio 1999. Probably his most open and his history of how he started and what he learned to become the guitarist he is.

Radio 1990 is the show. I watched this episode happen back in 85 when he was still something new we'd never seen before. Like when Eddie VH happened 7 years before.

His swedish accent isn’t as prominent here as it is in later years, sounds like he’s trying to sound very american or borderline british. The stockholm accent tends to be quite hard to get rid of.

He’s right but he doesn’t do as he says, he’s said in the past “I don’t listen to other guitar players” and he said that he only listens to Paganini and Bach for influence

Exactly, I’ve had people saying he knows how to play blues, flamenco, psychedelia, prog, experimental, and I’ve literally never heard him play any of that stuff. He’s a great player, but certainly not an eclectic one.

@@robertmulder7276 Not like Yngwie has booted a couple of singers like Jorn for coming into his wife back when he was touring on the War To End All Wars album. I saw that tour twice at the Masquerade in Atlanta. 2000. First concert he opened for Dio and my past friend had us leave right after Dio started. 2nd leg I went by myself and Lynch Mob opened for Malmsteen. I stayed after a d got free meet and greet with Yngwie El Maestro and he signed my WTEAW CD cover. Manager said no pictures with Yngwie however which was disappointing. Now his meet and greets are $400 each.

Yngwie songs have enough notes to make them great Come on! The man has great tunes with great guitar solos and riffs (plus superb vocals and musicianship) : Demon Driver, Rising Force, Deja Vu, Fire in The Sky, Valhalla, You Don't Remember I'll Never Forget, Braveheart, Red Devil, Faster Than The Speed of Light, Motherless Child, Liar, Touch The Sky, In The Dead of Night (great guitar solo - great cover)...

To validate the relevance of Yngwie’s point, he is a player who works on a “more is more” side of the industry whereas musicians of different genres can choose to sometimes look at things with a “less is more” attitude. I don’t really like Yngwie’s music at all, or his personality, but there is truth to his saying.

Does any of you "older" guys remember when Yngwie use to wear these the types of band leader jackets? He would wear no shirt under the jacket lol. Any I got yo me Ygnwie at the Public Hall in Cleveland Ohio. So anyway I have one of Yngwie's jacket. I have a pick and some signed stuff as well. But I wanna sell it. Any legit honest guys out there wanna tell me how I sell this thing. I think guys would be interested in it. I mean I do live close to the tock and roll hall of fame, I could donate it but I really can't use some cash. I'd give it for a steal if it goes to a good home. You know a music lover.

All the copy guitarist wanted to play like yngwie style, but yngwie was the only one neoclassical king all the time. Cause the copy guys only know the licks, dosen't know how to play real classical things.
