Best strat pickups out there, no matter what your style, in all 3 of my strats. Amazing tone and sustain as well as harmonics. Love them , props to the man they are named after. The strato master

I'm getting a strat soon and loading them with this set. I never liked the DiMarzio HS-3 set he used for years. I found it to be very dry and toneless. I guess DiMarzio couldn't deliver the goods for Yngwie and a player like Yngwie is not going to stay still and use something that doesn't work for him. The YJM set is amazing. I tried it at a guitar shop on a strat someone just had them installed in. They were just perfect sounding, not just for a Yngwie tone but in general as the ultimate strat pickup set. I also loved the speed knob on the volume. Awesome stuff.

YJM is entitled to his ego. He's a totally self-made man. Remember, he came to America with two pairs of jeans, one tooth brush, one shirt, one pair of boots and one guitar. Everything he has today he has created totally on his own. Not many can say that.
@Strato137 жыл бұрын
So true. I might add not many people, or even musicians are endorsed by Fender, Marshall, (Dimarzio-past), Seymour Duncan, Dunlop.. It took hard work to get all that, and it didn't just happen by accident. So yeah, one can critique his ego, but he did it all himself.
@Disciple0fMetal6 жыл бұрын
Yeah true. He's one of the few dudes who can talk shit and back it up with his skill lol he's got a big ego but a bigger legacy. What would we do without yngwie ?
@ericvalverderosado20466 жыл бұрын
I.m.o “more ir more” is wrong...not gonna deny...he's a guitar god, very inspiring, but watching that performance with that japanese orquetra, he was overcompensating with the shreddy stuff and was not going with them. That also have something to do with feeling always leyend, there always gonna be someone that will push you to get your game higher

The difference is Yngwie can back it up. It's okay to have a big ego if you can back it up. Because he is a virtuoso and legend, it's just a fact.

I don’t think he has a big ego. He just enjoys the rock star vibe. He has big hair though snd probably a long wiener
@soyborne.bornmadeandundone134210 ай бұрын
@@ramencurry6672 Considering he grew up poor and struggled to get here. I think he knows what's respectable and what's not. But he's also a goofball who likes to have fun. But also a guy who doesn't take bs from others. Sounds like he's had some ups and downs in his life but still managed to stay a decent guy. Look at John Mayer or Clapton who got racist and sexist. Look at led zep who child molested. Johnny cash who burned down a forest of endangered birds. Guys like YJM and Frusciante mouthing off from time to time is pretty tame compared to many other artists lol.

The low output Dimarzio YJM/HS series pickups were a cool part of his sound IMO...not a knock on his new pickups but the Dimarzios will always be the classic Yngwie pickup in my mind
@Slammintone10 жыл бұрын
I just got a new USA YM Artist Strat with the YJM Fury pickups and they are different to my recollection of the HS-3 Dimarzio. However, either version is pretty low output and shine into an amp with an overdrive preamp in front of the signal. I would say the YJM Fury actually sounds more like a Strat than the HS-3 did. The neck YJM is extremely good sounding through an overdriven amp, it's very clear and detailed on the high strings and has a very strong and definined cello tone on the lower strings. Very woody and snappy response!

Seymour duncan YJM fury pups muddy sounds...HS3 pups are really good sounds from his Alcatrazz band up the 80's yngwie solo album but now with the Seymour duncan fury pups is muddy sounds, you can compare his all albums....but both of them Seymour duncan pups and dimarzio HS3 pups are really good pups...cheers

I love Yngwie and I don't know WTF happened with DiMarzio, but Yngwie made the HS3 the legendary pickup it is now and nothing is going to change that never, only the HS3 posseses that 'magic tone'

I don't see YJM to have a big ego at all. I just think he refuses to see himself as a nobody. It's more of a dignity thing. Not over confidense or gradiosity. He dresses over the top, but his personality doesn't come off that way.

@MrShredder666 Thanx man, where you found that? i was searching a lot about it but finding nothing. I´m thinking to change all my volume pots from 250 to 500k, using HS-3 and HS-4, but not shure about improvements. It´s supposed to get little bit more bright and output.

@xJustynLx Maybe SD offered enough money. Same happened with Zakk Wylde and GHS string, he sweared by them for almost 20 years but when he signed with Dunlop to do the pedals, he changed to Dunlop string and now suddenly they are the best strings he's ever played. And with Richie Sambora, he's been very traditional strat/lespaul guy (of course in the 80's he used charvels) but subbenly he has ESP signature which looks like crap. Money talks in this business.

I was just gifted a left handed American strat. I played one for 15 years before I wore the frets down to the board and went to Gibsons. Now that I have a strat again I went looking for pickups. I am completely sold on the Furys. My question is, as a left handed player, will the position of the poles make a tonal difference if they are effectively upside down when installed in a left handed position? I don't dare hope that there are left handed *pickups* out there...
@jeando_guitar13 жыл бұрын
well, first i opened my signature strat too (2008 model bullet truss rod) and there´s 250k inside, that was very confusing to me because i almost convinced yngwie used to use 500k (bare intuition). but tonight (a couple or hours ago) i have installed a CTS 500k log to one of my strats (Hs-3,4 provided) and feel the guitar better, will do the same with others, including YJM sig. @MrShredder666
