I find it a little hard to believe Yngwie didn't get the idea of classical meets rock from Ritchie. I mean he says here that he didn't do that when he was listening to him, but if you listen to the legendary picking run in "Highway Star" you can already hear it there, and actually as far back as his solo in their 1968 cover of "River Deep, Mountain High" and the great track "April from 1969.

What? No he didn't. Blackmore's classical playing comes from doing things like incorporating Bach progressions into his playing. Yngwie's classical influence comes from String Concerto's and violin solo's like the Caprice's. I'm not questioning that he's influenced by Ritchie, but he does not emulate his playing, they are like fire and water stylistically...

YOU SAY THAT mr blackmore invented the neo classic rock ok in a lot of albums with deep purple or rainbow ... there are way that sounds neo classical but not the climax worn by malmsteen .. listening to mr crowley randy rhoads he invented the neo classic as then. but not MALMSTEEN has classical music even more prominent than any other guitarist in my opinion despite the influence that had on blackmore MALMSTEEN
