Reaction to More Dreamcatcher Music Videos (Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What, Deja Vu) - WOW!!!

Theory time! (This is gonna be long. lol) OK so for the storyline of the 'Nightmare' saga, it all technically starts with Fly High since it's a prequel to Chase Me and Good Night. It shows that the girls were normal, but then Yoohyeon killed a spider JiU caught with a magnifying glass. This angers the spirit of the spider queen and she unleashes a curse on the girls that turns them into 'Nightmares'. JiU closes the gate at the end to stop the curse from spreading outside the mansion they were staying at. Chase Me and Good Night is a two-parter focused on a Nightmare Hunter whose trying to catch the girls, but they ended up trapping him in another world so they can go back to reality. And you have keen suspicion in saying that the book seemed to be dropped on purpose, since it's theorized that the one who dropped it (Yoohyeon) is the traitor in the group. You and I is when the spider queen finds the girls after they escaped back to the real world and gets her revenge on Yoohyeon by possessing her/trapping her soul in the other world again. The girls try to save her, but it's implied that it didn't work and she's still possessed/trap. What switches the concept to nightmares in modern settings and lucid dreaming, as the girls realize Yoohyeon is still lost in the other world and start searching for her. Piri is them facing their nightmares to reunite with her, and their Japanese release Breaking Out is them finally reuniting with Yoohyeon and escaping the nightmare. Deja Vu is a stand alone because it was a collaboration with the game "King's Raid", so it reflects a lot of the main themes in the game, mainly betrayal. However, there are plenty of theories about how it could possibly link to the 'Nightmare' storyline, because Yoohyeon is the antagonist. She betrays and kills JiU so she can take the throne and banishes or kills everyone else, so she's left alone haunted by ghosts from her past. Scream is the start on a new storyline; the 'Dystopia' saga. And since it's still new and we're waiting for their next comeback, there's not many theories on it, but here's my take on it: The Tree of Language that's featured in this new storyline (even being in the name of the Dystopia album) bears different fruits when people say good or bad things. JiU is the guardian of this tree and forms Dreamcatcher to help protect it and maintain balance between the good and evil in the world. There was a teaser for the album story which showed a little girl who was connected to Dreamcatcher somehow (I'm thinking a familial-like bond), but she accidentally opened a book which unleased the spirit of evil and killed or possessed her. The girls were heartbroken from the loss, and Gahyeon became influenced by the spirit of evil to go into the Tree of Language where she found that mysterious crystal. She thought, maybe she could use the power within the tree to bring the girl back, but instead, the crystal broke and both the tree and the girls became corrupted by the spirit of evil. As the opening said, the light disappeared and people forgot how to say good things. So, all the girls memories become altered and their personalities change. Gahyeon starts spreading hurtful and hateful words, Dami thinks everyone betrayed her and starts spreading lies, SuA becomes angry and goes to war, and the group splits up, leaving Siyeon and Yoohyeon alone and in pain. JiU gets trapped inside the tree and can't reach the others. But Siyeon and Yoohyeon feel deep inside them something is wrong with their memories, and start going in search of the truth. I'm curious how the storyline will progress when we get the next release from the group, and now that Handong's back, I'm interested in seeing what kind of role she'll play in the story. You should also check out some of the MVs they have for b-sides, I'll leave you a few of my favourites: "Wonderland", "July 7th", "And there was no one left", "It's okay", "Lullaby", "Red sun", "Black or white" (choreo MV on dingo music's channel), "Sahara" (self made MV) and finally Siyeon's (the main vocal) first solo "Paradise". Then after that you could try some of their dance and vocal covers, I recommend Siyeon "Speechless" and "Faded" and her performance of "Overdose" by EXO, Yoohyeon "Secret love song" (a must watch), and "Perfect", Jiu "Honesty", Siyeon Yoohyeon and Sua's cover of WINNER "Really really", Jiu Yoohyeon and Sua's "Taki taki" dance cover, Sua "Copycat" (another must watch), Jiu and Handong "troublemaker" performance. Thanks for continuing the journey with Dreamcatcher. My advice. Just enjoy the music and the visual first. Then read the comments about what happens, then watch the music again to understand what's the storyline. And again to understand the lyrics. Cause it's impossible to catch on what's happening in 3 or 4 minutes while enjoying the music and trying to read the lyrics. Most important, just enjoy the song😊

For the Chornological Order of The Storyline For The Nightmare Series: Watch in This Order Fly High, Chase Me, Good Night. Also You and I which is placed either last or in between Fly High & Chase Me in the Series. What and Piri is about dealing with Nightmares in a more modern/today sense. Deja Vu is separate outside of Dreamcatcher's main storyline. it is a collaboration with the online mobile game Raid of Dream. Scream is the start if the New Dystopia Series Storyline. Blue Grey Hair in You & I is Yoohyeon the Lead Vocalist. Fandom Name is InSomnia. Watch Sera Ryu's Video series on Dreamcatcher. She breaks down the Storyline for the Nighmare Series there. Also she placee You & I between Fly High and Chase Me in Terms of the over all Storyline, which make sense even though the look of the MV is slightly different.

First time I hear that *You and I* is placed before *Chase Me* - I don't think, personally, that this makes sense. Love Sera, but I have to disagree with her here. At the end of *Good Night* they all escape the "Mirror Dimension", even YooHyeon. But, as we see in *You and I* some part of her spirit was still in this other dimension and it's calling her back. The other 6 members try to prevent her form being totally imprisoned in that dimension, but the curse is too strong and they fail. Throughout *What* they are looking for her, but fail. They find her in *Piri.* Now, A the end of *Piri* they are all holding hands but are all dressed in white, it could mean they where all pulled back into the nightmare dimension, as shown throughout the different scenes in the video where an ominous hand grab each member, one by one. So the end of the story is in *Breaking Out* which makes sense, just because of the name of the song. In the video we see all of them trying to reach to each other through the spider web, eventually reaching everyone and "breaking out". If you place *You and I* before *Chase Me,* it is almost impossible to connect *Good Night* with the following main title videos. However, *You and I* connects very easily, as I suggested above, which is also the most common interpretation. Just my 2 insomnia cents!

Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher by mera is a wonderful look into Dreamcatcher as a whole and one of the biggest reasons i got into Dreamcatcher. well that and the Deja Vu music video! also Ryu Sera has really good breakdown of the Nightmare arc in her videos that she did for them! all their bsides are fantastic and their japanese releases are where they really pop off! and there was no one left, Black and White, Red Sun, TRAP, Sahara, Wonderland, and their cover of Bang Bang Bang are some of my favorites!

There are three storylines to the MV’s and certain B-Sides. Here’s the chronological order. Nightmare Arc - Fly High (Prequel), Chase Me, Good Night, then You and I. Curse of the Spider (from the Raid of Dream EP) fits in somewhere between Chase Me and You and I with the possibility of it fitting before Chase Me but it has no official MV. Modern Nightmare/Yoohyeon Rescue Arc - What, Piri/Breaking Out (Japanese Track). The shortest story arc, but it tells the story of the Nightmares going their separate ways but get drawn back together by the Nightmare Book from the first arc to rescue Yoohyeon from her fate in You and I. Breaking Out is essentially a different retelling of the Piri MV with a different ending so the arc (and the overall original storyline) ends with your preferred ending, either Breaking Out’s more positive ending or the more ambiguous Piri ending. The current arc is the Coven/Dystopia arc which started with Scream. Deja Vu is a one-off story.

well for one, yep definitely their bsides especially for the latest three albums are amazing so maybe those are stuff you could react to next time like the special clips for 'and there was no one left', 'sahara', 'red sun', and the simply kpop performance of 'jazz bar'~~ but also yeah as for theories sadly there isn't one generally accepted cannon and the girls themselves are very much confused about it too but i do remember a theory video from a channel called midnight theories... probably tho since there are way too much dc content out there i wouldn't suggest reacting to it for this dive but i can still find and link it here if you want c:

A big thing with Dreamcatcher is that their B-sides are just as good as their title tracks, and they have a wider variety of genres on their albums while still keeping a certain "Dreamcatcher" sound. They released a number of special clips for a lot of their B-sides as well. I would recommend listening to their albums in order of release date, and maybe reacting to the special clip released for each B-side. Might be the simplest way to go about that lol, especially since some of their best B-sides never got a special clip. The rest of the special clips are covers, either by the whole group, part of the group, or a solo member. Every member has at least one solo special clip. I believe there's a playlist for special clips on their official youtube account? You were right! The fandom name is InSomnia, it's written that way because in Latin, Somnia means dreams, so it means in dreams. Also as their concept is nightmares you could say that one might have insomnia if they had nightmares that kept them awake

We all understand the pieces but whole would be complete only with the last piece(which can be delayed till eternity after billion more songs, no hurry).

Dreamcatcher makes bops and hops only!!!! There are a bunch of special clips for bsides and covers you can watch, Id start with the Full Moon, And There was No One Left, Wonderland, Red Sun, and Lullaby, Sahara so you can get a feel for their discography! Then theory wise you can watch Sera Ryu’s Dreamcatcher journey since she gets neck deep in the lore; tidbits I can give you now is that Fly High is the prequel to it all and shows how the girls get cursed into being nightmares as Jiu catches a spider that Yoohyeon eventually burns-this unleashed a angry spirit on the the girls and Jiu closes them in to keep the curse from spreading! If you look closely at that seen where Jiu is surrounded by butterflies you can see 7 of them are immediately burned, showing that the 7 members have lost their purity to the curse and are ‘burnt’ away. There’s a lot of mirroring between Jiu and Yoohyeon throughout the Nightmare Series that can be seen throughout all the MVs and really the two start and begin the cycle of the curse even on into the Dystopia Arc!

Everyone approaches Dreamcatcher differently because everything they do is good, but one way is to do their albums one at a time after you've watched their title track MV's of which there are 8. After doing their B-sides then you can go to covers and sub-unit and solo performances. There are a lot of videos of their non-title track songs and I've always considered all of them to be MV's. So, you should enjoy yourself trying to put the story together. That's the point. A music group wants you to listen and watch over and over. So they don't want to be too clear about the story the first time through. They want fans to have fun listening and watching and thinking and theorizing until they have a story interpretation of their own. You do have one more MV to check out for the Nightmare story. Breaking Out is a Japanese release but is the 7th and final episode of the story. (And one of my favorites.) Have fun and welcome to the InSomnias. BTW, Deja Vu is a one episode story about Yoohyeon who betrays her comrades, repays JiU's mercy with murder, and sits on alone on a desolate throne with only the pain of her memories for company.

Honestly you should check out every Dreamcatcher song. Their title tracks are know to have pop-rock-metal sound, but all their sides are a variety of genres.
