Fabric 1 : 1/2 yard of cotton quilting fabric
Fabric 2: 1/4 yard of cotton quilting fabric

1/2 yard ultra light weight interfacing; I use Pellon PLF 36 (15“ wide) tidd.ly/3BPWzDF
7 1/4” x 9“ (18.4 x 23 cm) mid-heavy weight fusible interfacing/ stabilizer; such as decovil light tidd.ly/3M17tv2 (what I use in this project),

How long does it take to make one?

Highly subjective because it depends on your skill level. It took me a week of on and off evenings and I’ve been sewing for about a year. It took me time to puzzle things out, decide color scheme, make a mock-up, and it was my first time sewing a zipper.

hello! sorry to bother you with this a year later 😅 absolute begginer here: why not to use the sewing machine to attach the inside zipper pocket? why not, for example, use zig zag stitching at least for the sides? would that be risky for the needle (because of too much fabric/ the metal zipper)? I'm starting to sew and your wallet looks absolutely stunning! I hope to be able to sew something like this soon 😍 thank you very much for sharing!

Ok I made it. It was so difficult to sew that zipper in. It was all perfect until that second sew 😢😢. I’m going to attempt again but I’m going to make a few adjustments. You make this look easy and it would likely be easier with your zipper foot. My zipper foot has the back wide piece which made going around the corner much more difficult and I kept hanging up on the zipper and I nearly threw it in the trash defeated. It’s a tad wonky around the corners. But I completed it and when I feel up to it, I’m going to attempt another and make a few adjustments to make that corner easier.

I'm so glad to hear that, yes sometimes fusing interfacing may shrink the fabric (depending on the quality), maybe you can pre-shrink your fabric by steam-ironing it before cutting :) for future reference .

hi, i haven't tried it personally so i couldn't really advise you on that, i do think though...it'd be very bulky with vinyl and... (depending on your skill level), may be quite challenging to do the assembling.
