That's probably not a coincidence. Hope is a big part of Yoda as a character. He shows up to fight battles that others couldn't hope to win in his place. He's eventually defeated, gets forced into hiding and waits years for a student who he can teach and pass the torch to. He shows Luke his potential and the path he must walk to reach it, but ultimately Luke must take that journey alone. Yoda both possesses and gives great hope to the other characters.

This, the emperors theme, and the imperial march are my absolute favorite themes. Too bad yodas theme wasnt used much in the prequels 😢

The action-y remake in AOTC was incredible though.

I think it's because we don't have much scene of yoda teaching alone in the prequels

14:35 is my personal favorite. Sweet yet somber. A fitting conclusion for yoda Also one of the saddest lines imo played at this moment: “Unfortunate that you rushed to face him…That incomplete was your training…That…not ready for the burden were you…”

This was excellent thanks! My whole life since 1980 (I was 5 years old) the theme when Yoda pulls Lukes X-Wing out of the swamp and the whole orchestra swells has given me goose bumps. It never fails.

What I liked is that while each has the same elements retained, each composer tries to add in other musical parts build from the simple melody. You can tell differences in each cue but also still feels familiar at the same time.

It appears earlier in the clone wars too. It plays when yoda is talking about the force to the clones

Yep. Unfortunately, that cue has not been released.

John Williams is still alive as of my posting this comment, but I am aware that he is 92 and nobody lives forever. The day he does actually die will be THE saddest moment in American history after 9/11.

You forgot both times in TROS: Luke lifting the X wing, and the Celebration
@StarWarsOpinion4 жыл бұрын
The X-Wing lifting scene I left out because it's a reuse of music from Empire just rerecorded. Didn't realize it was in the Celebration at the end.
@StarWarsOpinion4 жыл бұрын
Just double-checked both scenes and they're both reuses from Empire. JW re-used a lot of music from the saga in TROS.
