While I agree that the Pit vs Sora fight feels anticlimactic, the key beam Sora uses can kill. He and Riku use it on Xemnas at the end of KH2, and he used it against Xeonort at the end of KH3.

Well Luke stopping the spells was probably supposed to be Tutaminis but the animation doesn’t make it the most clear. Yoda vs King Mickey was a phenomenal episode the animation was incredible the characters writing was excellent I absolutely loved Yoda and Mickey’s interactions and the usage of Yoda’s character was perfect from his trollish side with hitting Mickey with his cane and laughing to using his legendary quotes in the best way possible and ending it with a fantastic track and really charming Force Ghost ending (with a great Han quote from Mickey) it was just a perfect episode one of if not my favorite season premiere hands down and I’m happy to see you really liked it as well.

The reason Pit is flying is because he might have the wings of the three secret treasures equipped during the battle which what happens during the battle with medusa if you do not bring this three secret treasures into the stage.

One flaw i think most people tend to overlook with the Sora vs Pit fight is how they tried to justify the speed of both characters by how fast they could react to lightning. To me this is the episode where the research team started devleloping problems with trying to calculate speed. Cause given what they did in the recent cloud vs Link rematch... this to me is where i think the problems started.

Especially the part where they say Sora is faster because he can react to natural lightning... which Pit does multiple times in Uprising. There's even a chapter called LIGHTNING BATTLE where Pit fights a Goddess who can control lightning, turn into lightning and straight up teleport. I'm fine with Pit losing, from what little I know of Sora, he'd completely destroy Pit, but there's no way they missed Pit's multiple lightning dodging feats. They purposefully omitted it for whatever reason and that just comes across as disingenuous.

For the keybeam, it has been used as an attack before but there is a moment in Chain of Memories where its used on Riku by Zexion pretending to be Sora and he says "How can the light hurt you?" indicating that it shouldn't hurt anyone besides something corrupted by darkness. To be fair, this is just a villain trying to mess with Riku but that sentence along with the fact that I don't think its been used on anyone but villains tells me it probably wouldn't kill or even hurt Pit. I also think they grossly overestimated it too but that's just me.

It would be safe to assume thats merely a line, especially given a whole war happened where wielders of light killed each other on the field of war which led to darkness consuming everything. like unironically Zexion was just playing to Riku's emotional insecurity due to his failures of KH1. if a keyblade can kill fellow wielders of light, let alone fellow keyblade wielders formerly on the same side.

I’m kind of bugged Sora vs Pit never made reference to Chapter 14 with the lightning speed feats in it, or the Great Sacred Treasure outside of the sidebar and info boxes which is weird since it should scale above literal nukes of nature with the Reset Bombs

Even greater than the speed feats in Chapter 14, Chapter 8 (Space Pirates) should've given Pit an insane speed feat. Pit starts out leaving Skyworld (which Chapter 18 shows us is in Earth's atmosphere) and flies into space. Within his 5 minute limitation, he catches up with the Space Pirate Ship, which are stealing stars from constellations. It's never specified which constellations they are, but the closest one to Earth is 4 lightyears away. So Pit flew 4 lightyears in under 5 minutes. Even if we discount that as a one-off thing or say Palutena warped him, on foot he's fast enough to dodge shots from the Laser Staff and outrun the pull of black holes.

Personally, I can't stand Sora vs Pit, and it's for entirely petty reasons outside of the actual episode. I may be misremembering details since I literally haven't seen the episode or the related Cast episodes in years, but they missed details for Pit they reasonably should not have. The egregious one they missed was him dodging lightning as early as the 1st 5 minutes of Chapter 2, which I believe would have tied him with the speed feat they gave to Sora at the time. Normally I wouldn't care about them bungling something, especially since I don't think anything they missed changed the outcome of the fight, but the reason for it is that they admitted on a Cast episode they started research by playing Kid Icarus Uprising, but they didn't like the controls and stopped, and they clearly picked up research with resources that weren't thorough enough. They didn't do full justice to one of my favorite characters from my favorite game of all time just because they didn't like the controls.

Guess that explains why they missed the parts where Viridi literally states that Phosphora is as fast as lightning, or that Pit flew to the *_constellations_* (which are of course much further from Earth than the Lunar Sanctum they used).

@@greentoonlink flew to the constellations based off the power of another god. like does no one remember how most of the flying done in KIU is the result of gods ergo outside help? hell Phospora is as fast as lightning and sora has been dealing with cannon fodder faster than that in KH3D, which was mentioned in this video, top that off with the close range dome of lasers which would still be faster. the lunar sanctum feat is an actual reaction feat from pit which is more valid for consideration. but yeah, I get being annoyed at the omission of the lightning, but really, using a feat that isn't even a pit specific ability as if that should be something pit can reliably do is stupid

I said it in the other one and I'll say it here: Pit has FTL feats on foot as well, so regardless of "the constellation feat isn't really a Pit feat since it was only done with Palutena's help", which is debatable since Death Battle has used reactions *during* a flight to calc reaction speed (see Mario's "He rode a star going this fast so he could react FTL"'s feat from Mario vs Sonic 2), he's still undeniably faster than lightning, not slower as they claimed. Bringing up Sora at all is trying to start an entirely different argument that I'm really not interested in having. I only ever said Pit could've been researched better.

The thing that bugs me most about Pit v Sora is the end as well. So many wasted options - why not Ragnarok, a REAL attack? Why not Ars Arcanum, to beat away Pit's attacks and close in? Why not end it with a sick Zantetsuken into victory pose with a split Pit? SO many wasted skills.

My thoughts on these episodes are pretty similar to Nemesis'. Luke vs Harry was bad even by season 1 standards. Sora vs Pit was actually the very first Death Battle I ever watched, and to be honest, it's just okay. I have no nostalgia bias. It's just okay. Yoda vs King Mickey was fucking phenomenal! I can't get over how awesome it was. I just wish every other episode could've been as good.

As a huge KH fan and as much as I like the fight, Yoda vs Mickey disappoints me because of how stupid strong KH characters are. Before the video came out, I don’t think a Single KH fan doubted Mickey would win in a complete wash. Also for some reason they compared Mickey’s speed to Roxas’ replica flying through space which makes no sense considering 1) we have no idea where the replica’s starting position was, and 2) it wasn’t Roxas’ heart, it was his replica (we know this because you see his heart leave Sora), and 3) that shouldn’t be comparable to Mickey’s own speed. Mickey could probably move extremely fast anyway given his own feats and it doesn’t change the outcome, but the entire fight is just kinda weird when you know both of the source material so well. What they basically did was Goku vs Naruto, love it or hate it Naruto would lose 100% of the time

... 1) the replicas starting position is likely the radiant garden given that's where the replicas Demyx dropped off were last seen, 2) the replica needed to have a heart in order to do what it did to begin with ... seeing as it was a lifeless doll before (or it was launched prior but nothing really exists to tell us that is the case and if that were the case the end result would be the same so the speed would still be roughly accurate unless it was fired way earlier which again no info on), 3) Xemnas dodged the feat, meaning assuming if the roxas feat is valid, Xemnas dodges it and mickey and him are shown able to clash and fight on par with each other and with no reason to assume Xemnas would hold back on him, they are ergo comparable. the real objection should be we have no idea where its starting position is relative to the keyblade graveyard, as it could have crossed those 3 star systems, or just a different region of space all together as stellar bodies aren't exactly locked in position.

Pow: you can bend anything by hitting it, it acts like hitting a brick, your jump is shorter and you cant jump on enemies Doctor's coat: you can shoot pills that don't ignite but can activate blocks also if you jump on enemies you dont get any bounce Star rod: you get 4 extra but small jumps, can inhale enemies and blow them out to activate blocks (no air blow) Morph ball: you can shoot 5 missiles,infinite lemons ,morph into a ball and 5 bombs, the bombs break blocks and the missiles activate them Poke ball: you can shoot electric bolts to stun enemy stacks, bosses and players also activate blocks Pikmin: there are 7 pikmin, you can choose which one you get and b to throw pikmin (you can only have one pikmin) Red: deals 1 jump of damage per 5 seconds, acts like a fire ball Blue: deals 1 jump of damage per 10 seconds, acts normally when in water and in water night themes Yellow: deals 1 jump of damage per 7 seconds, it can carry items and activate blocks Purple: deals 1 jump of damage, it weighs as much as a muncher, it can trigger pows and destroy blocks just by falling on them White: deals 1 jump of damage per 3 seconds, can survive poison water and destroy munchers Winged: gives you a floatier jump for 10 seconds with a recharge of 5 Rock: deals 1 jump of damage and activates blocks like a orange pow inkling: you can shoot ink balls similarly to links bow that make 3 by 3 ink stains, if you shoot one and it hits the ground it makes a 3 block wide stain but you can activate the inkball earlier by pressing l or r again which affects semisolids and other blocks, if you press down on top of ink you become a squid which makes you clip inside the block you are standing on, you act like you are running in normal ground but like in a cloud in semi solids and other blocks, also water kills you and cleans ink gnw mario: you can teleport 2 block forwards by TAPPING left or right your jump just teleports you half way up and then up, your fire balls also teleport but one block left and right pac man: you lock on to enemies and can dash into them in 8 directions and if you run too fast you destroy enemies that touch your mouth backpack: you cant jump but you can carry items builder suit: you have 5 bricks that you can place anywhere like in story mode suspicious knife: you can go into any pipe (warp or not) and exit another one in the same warp, you have a knife stab and you can make gizmos not work Luma: You can spin and big chunks of blocks get a gravitational pole

Think of when Heracles was born and the reign of Gilgamesh as a core basis of when the Age of Gods take place.
