i've got a Bergan one like that from years ago, that articulates, very comfy.

I have got both the larger sizes and i love them. Shoulder strap bottle holders and 2 generous hip belt pockets....my only gripe is that the belt lengths are massive. Never needed to use the mesh pocket when you can stash wet gear under all those straps. Back feels nice and airy too.

@@TonyHobbs Only just seen this Tony....i get all my gear inside the main body so it's either the 40 to 50 litre in summer and the x mid or duo mid and the Hex v4 or in winter its the 60 to 70 litre pack with either the Soulo or Nallo and more recently the voyager BUT i have just sold them both on eBay and upgraded to the Atom plus 48litre and the Atom Mo 60 litre ......obviously i dont have to take camera kit or doggy stuff but you have got all that space to strap stuff on the outsides with the synch straps.

Hey Tony, thank you for filming this video from the trade show.... Always nice to see new gear. I had some Sierra Designs gear many many years ago and it served me very well.... ATB Tom

It's a great pack, I have the 25-40 version and use it for long day hikes/ lightweight overnights. Got a little overlook of it on my channel I think. I do have to say it is very comfortable and has an adequate air flow system. I was going to use it for the west highland way but the only let down for me was the lid and the tiny pocket on it compared to the conventional pack. I know putting that stuff into dry bags into the main compartment would solve the problem but it's not as quick to access if you know what I mean. When its fully loaded you can't really squeeze anything under the compression straps i.e foam mat although it will easily go into one of the side pockets. The hydration net used as a outside mesh pocket is very small and a squeeze to get waterproofs/tent into. Baring in mind this is only my review of the smaller 25/40 and not the larger ideally more convenient 40/60. You can also interchange hipbelt sizes.

Hi Scott I'll take a nose 👃 lol mmmmm so fully loaded can anything get under the front straps like a tent etc
@scottcarr862 Жыл бұрын
@@TonyHobbs no, ideally they should be bungee. You could of course rig something up. I do find it more comfortable than my noisy osprey packs.

I quite like the look of this. I've never managed to find a comfortable lightweight pack. It's expensive, but if it's well made and robost, I might give it a go. I like the water bottle holders in the front. I'm sick of trying to grab them from the side of pack.
@TonyHobbs Жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely critical to have water in front imo too I'm spoilt with mine so when I borrow Chris's I'll see PS the poles are Pacer Poles your message was there then not lol
@raspberryleaf3741 Жыл бұрын
@Tony Hobbs I can't even remember leaving a message about poles! I need to get out more😬 Scotland soon. Thank goodness.
It's a great pack. I've had the 25-40L for a year or so. It's spot on as a daysack for summer and winter and lightweight overnighters. I think I'll get a bigger one for longer trips 👍

I have the 40-60 and the 60-75 and until recently thought they were so comfortable and so usable, then I noticed a flaw. The waist belt has a stiff edge that cuts into the pack at the point where the lumbar pad is fitted. This wears a hole in the pack. I have 2 packs and they both have holes. When I contacted SD by email they have yet to respond. I am currently on their online chat where their customer service person said she would look into it, that was of now over an hour ago and still no further response.

There’s only one consideration for me & that’s is it as comfortable as my Osprey Exos? It would really have to be something extraordinary to prize me away from Osprey now I’m afraid.

@@TonyHobbs I had the Atmos previously which is genuinely a Rolls Royce of a rucksack but I switched to the Exos and to be honest it retains over 90% of the comfort even at it’s greatly reduced weight.

@@TonyHobbs I’m pretty settled on the 48litre Exos, I use it winter and summer you know what it’s like Tony eventually you refine & improve to the point whereby a 65 litre backpack is just wasted space. The backpack that the guy was selling you here is missing a big expanding pocket on the outside & the silly gold in fold out pocket was just a gimmick, the Osprey pocket just takes anything you put in it and it’s just so easy for grabbing those things quickly when you’re out.
