Because his limited cardio and his wrestling skills have atrophied since becoming more of a striker. His wrestling was never really that great for MMA to begin with

@@TheMendo123he can still wrestle and is very good at it. In his fight with nemkov he managed to steal a round with his wrestling. He took down nemkov like it was nothing and held him there with elite level top control. I just think Romero likes striking more these days and wrestling too much zaps his cardio in his older age.

@@omegashenron8 nemkov out wrestled yoel for a majority of the fight. As did Phil Davis and many others. Even when yoel was young he got out wrestled by Derek Bronson who was a college cheerleader

The majority of the fight was them standing and Romero was the only one that got a TD the entire fight which was in the last round. I don't think you're remembering that one right. I will agree that Phil Davis and Brunson did out wrestle Romero but it doesn't mean that his wrestling still isn't elite level. Someone that didn't have elite level wrestling wouldn't be able to out wrestle Chris Weidman. Also It's not like Romero was getting out wrestled by cans. Davis and Brunson have legit wrestling and are the only two guys that out wrestled him. There was no one else.. so I don't know where you're getting that "many others" from. 🤷‍♀

He is one of the best wrestlers in MMA. Unfortunately to use it in MMA you needs loads of CARDIO, so he uses it sparingly, only in a move that could finish his opponent.

Man Thiago left every partnof him in the cage with Jon that night. The man didn't quit even though both of knees had given out. But now look at himm those knees never healed, he doesn't move the way he used to and i don't think ue should continue fighting anymore.
