A very helpful beginner yoga. I've been practicing this along with Joelle's other sciatica video (20 minutes) and her lazy glutes video, doing one of them morning and evening for about a month. My sciatica pain is now much less through out the day. I notice a difference now that my glutes are toned up a bit. They support my sacrum movements now.

Joelle, I’ve utilized this video for sometime now and it had helped my well being immensely! Lately, I’ve been complacent about my health and body because of my work, study and life balance. As a result, all my aches and mains have made me irritable and somewhat low. Today, I did this set of stretches for the first time. Thank you for your concern. These moves are for someone who isn’t suffering great pain. How can I twist and bend like a pretzel when everything in the hip/groin/thigh area screams pain. I’ve decided to get a MRI and a hip injection on 8/16. I can barely walk.

Hi Rachael, all of us will experience postures differently, so while most people feel pretty big stretching sensations in the outer hip or the front leg (or sometimes inner hip of the back leg) in deer pose, that's not necessarily true for everyone. Feel free to shift around a bit in the position to see if you can find a stretch, but otherwise it might just indicate that that's already an open position for you!
