Do this yoga warm up before you practice your instrument. It will make your body feel good and ready to start practicing. All of these yoga poses are gentle and can be done seated.

HI I got an injury three years ago overdoing it as a percussion performance major in school. I left that school and went home for 6 months and did yoga and stretch resistance training to mediate the torn muscle. Currently at my new school I am doing a student-originated study addressing the role of exercise and anatomy in musicianship. I see a niche in the current music world that makes it very easy to overlook so many subtle happenings in the body itself while playing music. I really appreciate your mission!

I thought it was nice but I think the movements should have been in my opinion longer with more time to breathe in/out. Especially the first arm rotation exercise, if people have tense muscles, doing it so fast just makes muscles even more tense. Where the aim is to relax the muscles in order to play freely. It's advised to do such rotations slowly and really to breathe in slowly and out. The same goes for any other stretching in the neck/shoulder/back area. There are other good videos on neck stretching and I think they conveyed the warming up + being mindful a little bit better with fewer exercises but being more aware whilst doing them. This personally felt a bit rushed but obviously if others liked it, that's great! Just want to leave some constructive criticism
