Sadly. No personoids are allowed to be alive at the end of the round to end the game with the only exception being a personoid being in the airlock with magnet shoes on. This means it was impossible for that last round to be a win while Bouphe was alive.

The way CAIN works is that all the remaining players have to be pressing the button to shut it down, but if one of the players pressing the button is a personoid, then the personoids win. Since Bouphe was still alive, they couldn't shutdown CAIN.

Why would they change it like that? That just encourages a Personoid to do stupid things to delay the Residents rather than trying to play mindgames to be one of the two went to turn CAIN off. That is so genuinely stupid.

I believe it's only a vote between the people at the console. The personoid would be able to do a veto vote, meaning you have to be selective in who you send across.

@@clinicallyinsane5282 no its not really a vote, the ending just triggers once all living players hit the button. But if one of those players is a personoid you lose. the only way to win is to kill the personoids with voting, strangling, or environment and then getting to CAIN with only residents

@@dudekazoo Yes, it's stupid. The way it worked before was that you needed two people to turn it off and if one of them was a Personoid they would win. It was way better before. Now a Personoid is encouraged to run around and hope for jank to delay the Residents as long as possible.

Yeah honestly that's really bad design in my opinion. In that specific situation, the Residents had to willfully go let Bouphe kill them, so why shouldn't they be allowed to win since they outnumber the Personoids? I get that the game wants you to kill the personoids, but that's just... that feels shoddy to me. :/ I hope they update the game to allow for this kind of situation to let the Residents win, where the Personoid has no actual way to stop the Residents themselves.

The previous build of the game played on this channel definitely only required two passengers at the terminal. Not sure when they changed it, the changelog is very poorly worded.

Despit the whole point before getting to CAIN being to prevent the residents from getting there, which would imply, logically, that the live residents getting their should be their win condition

@@JohnSmithJane it almost feels like the inverse of dread hunger where thralls can win from beyond the grave. i get that a personoid could sabotage remotely (they have a wireless connection to cain) but it makes being one kinda pointless. a personoid winning by pressing the cain button to sabotage makes more sense as it opens the option for a long con but isn't an auto-win strat

Why does a personoid live without oxygen then die via strangled/suffocated?

When you strangle someone irl, you /can/ do it a really really slow way that just prevents them from breathing which presumably wouldn't work on a personoid... but more usually when you're strangling someone the point is to cut off the blood supply to the brain rather than merely prevent breathing and that is a significantly more effective way to strangle someone. Personoids may have some sort of blood/fluid/fuel that circulates through them that you could cut off from whatever their analogue to a brain is.

I understand why Lewis was frustrated at the end, cos it's not super obvious unless you're pressing the button at the end. The button can't be pressed unless ALL players who are alive press it, whether that be one person cos the second last person jumped off or took the escape pod, or if some how all six players were allowed to cross the bridge
