I don't get all the hate for this game. Its got such a charming art style and vibe about the game and honestly has such an awesome soundtrack. The major complaint I have is that the City Plots are way too small for the size you actually need.

The city plot issue you already mentioned but there is also the always online component for what most people is a single player game.

It was always online which is terrible for a singleplayer game. It's that bullshit that makes it so your game that you paid for yourself has to beg for permission from EA to run every day. And then the super small plot sizes, it's not so much a city builder than it is a puzzle game. People wanted another Sim City 4, and they didn't get that.

I mean for a "City Builder" the city plot should not be the bottleneck to your imagination. For me the City plot size itself is a HUGE downer, everything else about the game is great, the online drm shit was all cancerous but thats gone now.

Additionally to the above comments, the game just lacks depth. Depth that existed in the previous games. The people in the cities don't have designated houses, jobs or routines; they are just a mass that randomly enter buildings. Traffic management is simplified to the point of not offering any challenge. Having power, water and sewage tied to the roads also removes layers of depth. Overall it's just a shallow game that gets boring after a few hours.

God its SO nice with game audio, thank fuck the editor didnt turn off that this stream, last stream was dreary and quiet lacking atmosphere. Love the fellas but we dont come here to watch dead silence for 5 hours when they arent talking. This game has superb audio design, one of the few things the devs did right.

for anyone wondering...the reason why this sim city gets so much hate is simple. all the focuse of the development was how to turn the ip into a plattform to controll the users on...rather then to make a good game....a game EARNING its sales. wich is painfully clear with the tiny plots ,or how ALL of the ingame entities ''citizens ,cars etc'' is cosmetic not tied to the game mechanics at all ..and thats ontop of how said game emchanics is equaly painfully dumbed down. You could spent the few actuall game mechanics worth a dam in this game..to make a 'drop in drop out' dlc for friends tagged as 'district mayors' in the previous simcity game's city you play and see them either take your city to its peek 'augmenting' its facilities or doing ther best patching up mistakes if your a inept city planer ..and that would been somthing actully havign an exuse for internet connection demands and why you were restricted to a tiny portion of a city..hell..it likely be a better game even if mixing in the 'avatar' mechanics.

I have to agree that cities is better than sim city but things like the mega towers, and the sharing between different cities etc are some cool concepts, that would be interesting to see cities play around with
