as a tip for let's say elora: if you are first in initiative against an enemy, you could hold your action to wait untill phelania has used her legendairy resistance, to THEN cast blight(or if you are in cam's position: bane)

The simulacrum had *half the original's hp* Sidenote: I like to think that a monk's ki casting is more them channeling their own energy, and I think it's actually stated that arcane magic and maybe divine magic are them manipulating the weave. Pact magic is just borrowing the arcane knowledge from the patrons, and mystic casting is mastery of the inner forces from their solitude. Mystic and monk spellcasting is *wierd* Side side note: I swear she cast Armor of Agathys, which is only a warlock spell. I can't find what the chilling aura was, but I don't think it's an abjuration spell. It could be a special ability or an eldritch invocation, but is she part warlock?

No her spell isn't like Cam's duplicates, they are all in one space, think of them as being like poorly coded 3d images, all moving over one another. They know where she is, they have trouble distinguishing her anatomy however much like a displacer beast

Something spellcasting bosses usually have in their home base. Beholders are especially notorious for having some really powerful elaborate effect"lairs". Dragons usually stick with simple but painful things like cave ins and fissures in their main lair (where they keep their horde). Potentially with different things spewing out depending on type (lava, acid, poison...).

The other two said it right, but some creatures are able to have lairs, which are specific places, i.e. a dragons cave, a beholders domain, or in this case, a Giants castle. When in their lair they have access to buffs or abilities they wouldn't normally have. Think of it as a home team advantage. It's suggested to never fight a creature in it's lair if at all possible.

Cam- come on guys! We need to go stop Felania! People are actively dying as we are talking! Rest of Group- Hmmm... we should continue to debate this for 30min. While this goes on, Elora continues to stress how out of magic she is. -finally, Cam breaks and decide to rest for an hour. -now that that's decided, let's continue to plan for 10min, and then finally rest, then go after Felania. Me- Please stop debating this and think of all the dead NPCs that died in the 30min of debate and hour long rest. Either go in or rest, but don't take 40min to debate. I honestly love this show, this is my frustration with the characters not the players, although they are a little bit to blame.

Faffing around is D&D 101. It is a product of the separation between player and character, between reality and game rules. That wasn't 40 minutes of roleplayed debating, it was a few minutes of roleplayed debating with 35+ minutes of D&D faffing.

That is to say, that when you compare combat with roleplay mechanics, they are a bit different. Because in combat you have to allow more time to discribe actions where as in dialoge you can just say what you mean.

I'd say the worst thing about how long she takes is that, aside from disruption of flow, it's that it tends to mean you haven't really immersed into the character. You should know what your character is going to do, and the fact that she hems and haws is because she's thinking about the actual numbers and not just letting Jiutou flow through her. Embrace your tiefling, let her guide you, and it will be glorious.
