All it takes is pouring in 1/2 gallon of milk, adding the starter base, and the Foodi Smartlid does the rest automatically. Very economical as out of pocket will only be the cost of the milk.
Your first batch would need 1/2 gallon of milk and 1/2 cup of store bought plain yogurt. The store bought yogurt will be the starter base. After the first batch, you will make your own starter base from your homemade yogurt.
I use 1/2 gallon of milk. You can make any amount, just adjust the starter base to match. The boiling/cooling time will change depending on the amount of milk used. I used whole milk, you can use other percent milk if desired.
