I remember saying it in the first story quest too, but this quest gives her such great character development. At first she just seems like this busybody motormouh who is in love with her own voice. And yeah, she does love to talk, but even more than that, Yoimiya LISTENS. She is always noticing others and thinking about them. We've already pointed out how she asks about our sibling in both quests, and few other characters have done that (the only one who comes to mind is Amber, and it makes sense because they are pretty similar in this aspect of their personalities). She also remembers all the things we told her on the boat ride, and immediately recognizes the Aranara when she sees dolls of them. And she's constantly thinking of other people. She's always thinking about gifts for other people. And even when she's busy with all that, she sees a sad little girl in a wheelchair and drops everything to help her out. And does a great job of doing it, too, even though she doesn't know the girl well because she listens. This quest just says so much about Yoimiya's character and does a great job of showing, not telling. And of course that ending... It was just magical. Absolute S tier story quest, still my favorite in the game so far.

I loved when she just started asking about the situation with the sibling. It also felt very genuinely written. And it's weird that this felt so "unusual" cause a main part of the story is about wanting to be reunited with the sibling. And when we do character quests they usually try to focus on dealing with their own problems, but yoimiya just went and asked about 'us'... That was great.

It is _impossible_ for me to watch this cutscene without crying. No matter what. It perfectly captures Yoimiya’s connection to her “child side” with her embracing the dream element and everything, and it reinforces to the audience how important it is not to lose that side of yourself. Perfectly done!

The best part of this quest is how it addresses "protecting the hopes and dreams of others" in a mature way while also maintaining a childlike sense of wonder. The cutscene got me emotional.

this this is what reminded me of the difference between laying a video game and watching a movie at the end, in GI, the biggest once in a playthrough reward is the cutscene, but it wouldn't have been the same if it was just by watching someone play it, or playing it yourself and this is why, I encourage GI lore enjoyers to keep playing the game if they still want that experience don't let any GI hater say that "you could just watch someone's playthrough", it is not the same I repeat: IT. IS. NOT. THE. SAME. and with more competition coming around, we know that they will keep

The head canon that I accepted as to why the Aranara don't speak is that they are dream creatures, so they use telepathy rather than an actual voice. (Though the actual reason might be cause MHY wanted consistency with the WQ)

Honestly, one of my favorite aspects of Yoimiya that I am SUPER glad that you picked up on, is the fact that Epsilon, Sarge and Doc all die at the end of RvB 😄😄😄

i love yoimiya character so much she so relatable little too personal sometimes i was always view as a child whose "mature" when i was a kid but overtime i failed to realize how truly important that little childhood wonder is its the literal building block of what your going to be as an adult, i have never truly let go of that "little me" in a sense i feel like im in debted to them to make my life better,so having a character close to the same agenda as i had is very special to me not a lot of media portray "childish characters" as annoying little assholes who always get everything wrong. so having yoimiya as a character who is an adult that still have that childish wonder without abandoning the FACT that she's an adult with responsibilities, whose willing trouble themselves from protecting those childhood dreams even for a little a while is very impressive portrayal i dont know how many times do i need to preach it but genshin does know how to portray a character, people just cant read to see it.

I got Yoimiya when she came out and never once regretted it, she's absolutely precious and so incredibly kind and thoughtful. ONE OF THE FEW CHARACTERS THAT ASK US ABOUT OUR SIBLING TOO LIKE SHE GENUINELY CARES. Out of all the characters Yoimiya would be the first one I'd keep updated on the situation and she god damn deserves it!!!

i love how the first weelchair child we see is in Sumeru. the city has very fiew stairs but the ramp are pretty steep. Avin's arm must be incredibly strong

This was the 1st SQ that I instantly wanted to see Arnold play after I had finished it. The unfortunate delay he had to take with Yoimiya's SQ was painful but understandable, And when he finally did it, I say it was worth the wait cause having not seen it for a while it brought me to another great emotional ride, which i think these time capsule vids help do as well.

Definitely this is quest stays in my top 3 favorite story quests of all time. That cutscene is unforgettable! For me that was probably the Genshin equivalent to Peaknacony in Star Rail lol! Sumeru was the best arc on our Teyvat journey

It really is a shame Layla wasn't in this quest. With them being on the sheer polar opposite sides of the energy spectrum, Yoimiya's aura would probably knock her out cold.

i highly doubt that the name Avin in that hospital belongs to this little kid. There are no signs of that hospital being in use in recent times, so even if Dottore once treated people there, it has to be wayyyy long in the past. Its all dusty and rotten now. Not to mention, while this place was being used to collect mad scholars, mad scholars are mostly researchers who go crazy while trying to connect with Irminsul. The problem being, while it is not entirely impossible for a kid to have done that, there really was no implication of that. So i would assume that all the mad scholars kept there were similar in age to at least Haypasia or older(because Haypasia was already deemed a genius for connecting with irminsul at such young age...so its safe to assume that most of them wont be her age or younger if at all). So i just believe that the name in the hospital just belongs to some other person with the same name.

About the Avin point: there may be potential. To put an outside example side by side: "Cyrus". By now, most people know that there are two characters with this name, with these exact letters, but _in English_ As a CN (voices) player with EN texts, the existence of two Cyrus threw me off guard, but the moment I heard the CN pronunciation for the "second" Cyrus during a certain Quest (that will come a long time later in this channel, I'm sure), I knew that they were talking about someone else rather than he who is in Mond' (I don't see a reason why he would be there, but if they could make it work, why not). The "phonetics" were different (Mond': 塞琉斯 / Sumeru: 居勒什). EDIT: I suppose a player using JP voices could also point the above out. I learnt of this Avin thing now, so I had to go to the abandoned place and look into the name. Turns out it's the same name as the one in this Quest, even with the CN text. EDIT2: Also unfortunately, not even CN could have voiced Aranara bits.

Didn't we get a display type with the assortment of customizable Aranaras from Graven Innocence too alongside the "rejected hand-me-down" prototype Aranara 😭 I got chills too when I first saw the Ruin Golem. Part of it cuz it genuinely scared me xD Yoimiya is too precious to ask us about our sibling. I do remember that we actually talked about it during her first story quest so it's just a continuation of that. That time too she said Inazuma is a great place to live so just in case the twins wanted to settle down there 🥺💖 I said the same thing "they're all 5 stars!" 😂 I keep thinking this but didn't the Gliding Manual(?) thingy say you shouldn't carry a person whole gliding meanwhile here and in 3.5 Windblume, they carried a person (Timaeus) xD or maybe I'm remembering it incorrectly It's nice seeing this again cuz I also didn't immediately do her sq 😌

I totally understand why aranara is not voiced, the way they exist means every nara may see different aranara, therefore HYV decides to not voice them, so naras who play these quests will have their own imagination about aranara's voice : ]

It isn't quite gated beyond the aranara quest. You don't have to do the entire quest, you just have to do a little bit (until you unlock the dream Vanarana, I think?).
