I discovered Yoke Lore I was 7 months pregnant, and in a difficult place in my life. I am a teacher and had spring break coming up, and I was looking to go to quieter concert where I could just enjoy something. I live in Columbus and wrote down every single band playing that week. Yoke Lore was the first name, and I never got further in the list. I dove in all night to the music and fell in love with a hidden gem. As I was watching Good Pain, I got a call that my brother in law had just committed suicide. He would always wear flip flops and socks and that and the lyrics just seemed to connect the two. I didn't get to got to the concert, but somehow, his music continues to help me find peace in the strangest ways.

I fucking LOVE his movements. His hands and lower body are communicating off beat something completely independently of his lips and face and everything else, and it seems to be a communication between God and the heart. And I think it's complaining of it's asceticism and striving, and wondering what is taking God so long. But the thing that thinks this doesn't know what or if it is, so best take this with a pinch of THIS, which is salt of the Earth, this lad.

I saw him perform live with Aquilo. They are both awesome live and in video. Yoke Lore is funny and a great performer. His banjo wasn't tuned properly and it took about 3 tries to get it right but each time he would say something like "that wasn't quite right". Awesome performance.

You guys were awesome in DC on Thursday! I had heard this tune when it popped up on a Spotify playlist and then a KZbin playlist so it was familiar when you played it. The thing that made it stick for me was when you introduced it and told us how you are a yogi and need the people you love to keep you grounded and that's why you wrote it. It resonated with me. Very cool!

can someone tell me what this song is about? or at least how yall interpret it?
@undiscoveredtreasures91386 жыл бұрын
I don't understand it fully, but my interpretation is that this song is about a man learning to love with the help of his partner. The lyrics are kind of cryptic so I can't say for sure but it's part of the beauty imo
@ryanadams63534 жыл бұрын
Hold me down, as I see it, is that feeling in the figurative sense of wanting someone to be that rock, meet you half way and come through when you're feeling low. Stay by someone's side and just be there. Such great music, though.

The all songs I heard are great, but videos for it doesn't contain feelings and emotions which I could feel while listening to them. This one is too much focused on one theme, and the theme doesnt compare to the song. The song is more colorfull and the video should be more miscellaneous. Although I'm happy about that you put work on it. I will just wait to see how you gain skill and became more professional and perfectional. Keep working, work harder and I wish you the best. Good luck bro

Saw YL preform at Amoeba SF, I must say I would never check out YL from this video. This bleached blonde tip cutie excuse my wording - bullshit. It's not appealing at all. With inlines or not. BUT! seeing him live is a complete different story. The unwashed, unbleached, sweaty and sincere live version of him was beautiful. And i dont even listen to this kind of music or swing that way.
