We enjoyed it very much. It really is a gem of a city and so close to Tokyo for us foreigners. Can you recommend your favorite places and just maybe we can include them in a future video. 😃😃 Thank you for watching!

I would recommend touring the historic architectures in the Kannai area (a symbol of modern Japan), Sankeien Park (Japanese garden owned by a wealthy business man a century ago), or Yokohama Zoo “Zoorasia” (enjoy watching animals in the open-air atmosphere).

I do not believe that I have ever come across any b/vlogger who has covered my hometown as extensively and pleasantly as you have, for which I am grateful. Too often, Yokohama is just a pass-through location for those who visit Tokyo and Kamakura, but , as you have demonstrated beautifully, Yokohama does have much to offer to those who are willing to spend even just half a day.
@RenataPereiraTV
@RenataPereiraTV 4 жыл бұрын
A half day is too little. Yokohama is a nice balance from Tokyo, calmer and less busy. And a lot of attractions all with in walking distance. AND it is reachable by subway. Yokohama will get a lot of publicity during the Olympics games. We loved your city a great experience
@jacksan1
@jacksan1 4 жыл бұрын
@@RenataPereiraTV True, a half day does not do Yokohama justice. The city has long been a go-to location for the domestic travelers, but for non-Japanese ones Yokohama has been a rather neglected destination. It is a large city, not just by the population but in terms of the area size, and it offers diverse sights. Where I am originally from, Sakae-ku, for instance, is closer to Kamakura than to the Port of Yokohama area where you were, and even though it is also Yokohama, a good part of it is wooded, elevated (up to 300 meters from sea level - a great view of Mt. Fuji and the coastal area) and very quiet. Many city people including the Tokyoites visit that area of Yokohama to go hiking, as you can hike all the way to Kamakura, in about an hour and half's time. Regardless of that, I recommend those who want to visit Kamakura (many do) that they base themselves in a Yokohama hotel instead of one in Tokyo and cover both Yokohama and Kamakura.

Yes, I add titles, descriptions, and captions in 40 languages. It's auto-translation, but it's important for me that everyone (or at least the majority of people) who choose to watch my videos can understand them. I'm originally from Brazil, and I see how friends and family get frustrated trying to watch videos they can't understand, and I don't want that for my channel ❤. All the best to you!

Renata!! So happy to see a new video from you! I've been to Yokohama, and it is such an amazing city...super easy to walk around. My wife's cousin lives there. Our next trip to Japan is booked for April 2020, and I am so excited, that I even bought a new camera!! Cannot wait to get new content up for my channel... Also one more thing, you being a journalist by trade, gives you such an awesome advantage! You know how to research, and your delivery when explaining things makes you so professional! Thank you for sharing your experiences again! Take care!

My mother went with Japan Travel Bureau / JTB 40 years ago. I think they are the largest agency in Japan. They could give you an idea. Also I use Tripadvisor for hotels. that gives you an idea also. I am going to use them.

Our meals cost about 800 yen per person (breakfast is that price too). For transport, you can use Google Maps to get estimates, as the cost depends on where you're staying (it varies according to the distance). This video will give you a good idea about transport costs and options: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJ_dpYeEra2AgZY. Our hotels were about US$ 110. There are a lot of places you can visit for free, like the temples, shrines and this waterfront area in Yokohama, and the good thing is that the paid attractions are not as expensive as in Europe or the USA.

All the Japan waterfront cities are absolutely stunning. Top 3 would be Hakodate, Yokohama and Kitakyushu. But, I take it back. All the waterfront cities in Japan are absolutely stunning.

I am going to Japan. Is it easy to get around on our own? But we want to go to Kyoto also, Ise, Kanazawa etc. Train directions also English? Street names??? Beppu. What month is this? Summer?
@RenataPereiraTV
@RenataPereiraTV 5 жыл бұрын
In Japan you need an app to guide you while using trains and metro. Don’t count on signage alone. Most signs are in English too, but the stations are so big and there are so many platforms (sometimes even with different trains in the same platforms). You can use Google Maps, Navitime or others. This was in the end of August. Editing takes a lot of time, that’s why I could only post now
