Its so sad that about thousands people as the news said, died in tacloban city alone, the death toll is so sad and horiffic, may real estate developer offer people a better functional house design based on Earthquake, typhoon and flood. May this be a trend in real estate industry to offer houses that saves lives during calamities in Philippines. May our beloved relatives rest in peace. We should open our eyes, analyze and implement a better housing design here in Philippines.
Yolanda super typhoon take away thousands filipinos, worst than the Earthquake that hit in Bohol and Cebu, 7.2 magnitude earthquake gives me vertigo for 3 weeks, it scared me a lot thinking of our house and my family but it could have been better if we all have affordable Base Isolation Systems in our houses. For Flooding, people should have atleast 10 feet concrete columns so flood water can run freely on the ground, the ground will be a place for animals and grass / trees. For typhoon, the house roof should be curve or in a triangular shape, the wall of the houses should be slanting or curve so wind can just slide through and make less damages.
Damages of Yolanda should not happen again, human lives should be put first into the design of every structure above Earth. Help prevent and save lives. May they rest in peace, we love you all, Filipinos.
