25 years ago I read The Lord of the Rings first time, but honestly songs and poems were hard and as a teenager I was reading quickly through them or even left them.... now years later I'm back in MiddleEarth and noticed the pure magic of Tolkiens poems. I thank you for the melody and your wonderfull voice for this special song! Best wishes.

It was the same for me. I may have interpreted the text verbatim though and when it said “song” I assumed it was to be sang. There were no notes so I had to sing in my own imagining of it, as closely a melody as I could make. It sounded very rough and had no beauty. Today I can hear from artists what I would have wished for myself but lacked any creative or acquired talent for. That’s why these songs mean so much to me, they are what I imagining them to be. Many different styles over the decades that I’ve discovered over the past 2years have filled many gaping holes for me.

This your song should be sung not in the forest as Legolas did, but on ship's deck. It needs air to fancy: fading shore in the distance.. foam.. flowing hair..and above all your soaring music!

I'm reading through The Hobbit & LoTR with my son. I suck at singing and everytime we hit a song, I search up your songs first. They just hit different. Keep them coming! You're contributing to Tolkien's universe in ways few others have.

All of this. I read LotR first as a pretty young kid, and read it quite a few times after that, but just now I'm reading it again for the first time in maybe ten years after having a lot of life experiences and have been enjoying the songs/poems a lot more this time around, helped in no small part due to having songs like this one instead of just reading the text.

Nimrodel could be the sweetest song from LoTR; if done really well by the sweetest, most beautiful elf maiden. Your version is the best one on KZbin, i think this really is the best one. So Beautiful; woot. Great composition, with the chorus & instrmntl sections being well placed. Excellent !

Every scene edited in the video took my breath, and every fiber of your voice and composition dug into hidden places in my heart. You have done the Lay and Tolkien a great act of love! You perfectly captured the somber and forlorn tale in the song.

How beautiful to hear the song with belief. as fresh as the beginning of the day,sn sung with a youthful gift given to her, the music orchestrated well to give this belief a reality. I hear hope in this song, now next time I hear this song, i need to concentrate on the words. I am glad to see the evolution of the credit formation. Remembering detail is an overwhelming idea, but when such artistry is shared, a beauty of gift is shared but not known in the evolution of time. Elven time. :)

Oh my goodness! I can't belive you have such a voice and talent and you are not world-wide famous as Vanessa Mae or Lindsey Stirling... Or is it just me who didn't know you? I can't help but cry every time I play this video: it's so full of sentiments, regret, nostalgia. It really makes me feel sick of pain and longing for an ancient glory long lost in time and an epic love which leads a hero to his doom. The music and your voice are amazing

The idea comes from the story of the Greek goddess Daphne who is named after a river, diaphanēs, which is in Greece. Daphne is also a name of a sanctuary in the Apocrypha. According to the wikipedia, there is a temple to Aphrodite in Daphni, Greece.

It’s not that all elves are dramatic. It’s that no one tells stories about the ones who aren’t. There are thousands of nameless elves who never do anything particulatly dramatic in their lives. And then there are the Houses of Finwë and Elwë, who have absolutely no chill whatsoever and cannot stop causing trouble for five seconds straight.

Overall, the Lord of the Rings owes quite a bit to Wagner's Ring of the Niebelung, and the Hobbit to Song of the South. The Ring of the Niebelung, though, has not been translated. The Niebelungied is the story most people read instead. Both versions are available in Penguin Classics. The Ring has been translated at the beginning.
