This is great video about the YoLink temperature sensor. I'd like to add one more great feature. I put it in my freeze to monitor the temperature. This is unique feature and it's only smart sensor I can find which can work inside the freeze.

Hi Todd. You have a great presentation style with an overview and then a detailed implementation. Your delivery speed and mobile app displays are also great.

What about using humidity reading for Alexa routines?
@Blitz02032 жыл бұрын
First time I've watched your video. I just purchased 2 temp sensors, and I have a question ... Using Alexa routines, can you set a trigger to have the action of powering a smart plug on? Please let me know ... I haven't found anywhere where something indicates that's doable. Very Very professionally done video with a terrific thorough approach - many potential questions were answered by the video explanation. Super!

Hello, and thank you! I don't think you can do this with ALEXA yet because ALEXA doesn't recognize temperature sensors. However, this can be done using YOLINK's highly capable app. I just performed a test for you in my RV. I have a Yolink temp sensor, and set the low-temp alert for the Yolink temp sensor to 73 degrees....once that hits 73 degrees low temp alert I had it trigger a Yolink smart plug outlet to turn ON the RV fireplace. It worked PERFECTLY! So, as long as you're using Yolink products (sensors, plugs, etc.) you'll be able to trigger most, anything you want to happen within the Yolink app (AUTOMATIONS). Plus, these things work flawlessly from up to a 1/4 mile-away from the Yolink hub. So around a household (or RV) - they ALWAYS work! Here's the Yolink SmartPlug I was using: amzn.to/3ycElLZ Here's the Yolink Temp. Sensor I was using: amzn.to/3MaSqzh

@@twHomeShow Thank you SO much for your information, and the links and effort you did to help me out. As in your video, it was totally succinct and straight to the point. I guess I'm going to have to buy their plugs. FYI ... this is being used to turn on and heat for 2 cat houses. Long story short - I made multiple heating units out of incandescent rope lights. The sleeping area is insulated and that's where the sensor goes. Each heating unit adds 20 degrees regardless how cold it gets. Since I have 2 for each house - that's 40 degrees plus. That does the job. On a side note - I was hoping that the smartThings app might work - but as of now - no success. So I'll be buying the plugs you suggest. Again - thank you SO very much for your time, expertise, and willingness to help. If means more than I can express! Thank you!!! Rick

Very soon you'll be able to have Alexa tell you the water temperature, too. Our Weatherproof Temperature Sensor With Probe is coming out in a month or so!

Since you have sensors that work outside, please add a soil moisture sensor which could be stuck at various points in a yard...you'd sell a lot of 'em. They'd be perfect for LoRa because of the distances.

All your videos are great. I want to put my sensor in the freezer. I'm not sure how to set the alarm points. The freezer is at -10 degrees and I would like an alarm at 0 degrees. Any help would be appreciated. there are two slides one low and one high
@twHomeShow3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tony, Just tap on your thermometer in the yolink app, then select the 3-dots at the top-right > (you'll be on the "Details page) > tap on the ALERT option > there you'll be able to slide the temperature setting for your alert alarm. Thank you! -Todd

I have stayed away from routines going in or out doors. My problem is if you set a routine to go off when you enter a closet, it will also go off when you exit a closet. The same thing for doors, if you set a routine for going out a door it doesn't know if you are going out or coming in, so the routine will trigger both ways. Have you found a way around this?
@YoLinkbyYoSmart3 жыл бұрын
It's easy to have a motion sensor turn on a closet light on motion detection, and in the same routine start a timer that turns it off after your pre-set duration expires. And if motion is detected before the timer elapses, the timer starts over. This is great if you have kids, that never think about turning off lines. I have the bathroom lights set up to turn off automatically if there is no motion detected.

I have two of these sensors and the humidity is way off. It reads 76% inside my house when all other sensors I have read below 50. If it was 76% inside, I'd be sweating all day. These can only be calibrated via the app to +/- 10%. Any suggestions?

I've just bought over E500 of YoLink products and I must say I am DISGUSTED with their service and their appalling attitude. A month after ordering I had to issue an ultimatum before the goods were finally delivered and it was abundantly clear that the company were being dishonest about delivery. The order has a missing item and even though it was obvious the goods were being sold to a European customer none of the provided PSUs are European, all having American connections instead. The final insult was a bill for 20% ON TOP of the final price in import duty even though this was not obvious at the point of order - the prices quoted were in Euros so one would assume the goods were coming from inside the EU! CAVEAT EMPTOR!
