Last year, I took a chance to start paying off my debts , I downgraded to e kasi , and now I can confidently, say I'm debt free, with one month expense (emergency fund )on high yield(Tyme bank), and I'm making this mjondolo to be a home , I thank God for the strength, it was the thoughs journey. This month, I wouldn't be paying any debts for the first time after my failed marriage .Thanks to Ramsey Show

I just started my job as a graduate and a fire burnt our rental apartmrnts 2 weeks ago, in 8 months of working , everything burnt fridge to bed. I only got clothes. Save Save Save I had saved living below my means my grocery was that like of a res student since i started. Emergencies happen. At a job start, first few months arent for black tax, save first!!! Black tax later cause if u fall takes family to zero. I also thank jesus cause he had warned me to not buy any furniture n I LISTENED.

With areas like Sandton the purchase price is high but so are the vacancy rates, there are just not enough people working with stable income who can afford rent in Sandton. The rent is sometimes also lower than the bond repayments monthly... Think about this one wisely...

I just got fired, and I'm 39 years old. Now that I have 425K saved for an early retirement at age 50, 10K in an HSA, and a property that could yield an extra 200K, what possibilities do I have for a steady stream of income?
@AdamWright8fool2 ай бұрын
It’s reasonable to consider getting a financial advisor now, but delaying retirement might be a wiser choice

Is it time for a career shift or should I consolidate my investments into a single account? If I go for the latter, how do I do it right, and what could be the drawbacks? Plus, with a $200K property sale on the horizon, should I combine my investments or diversify them across different markets?

These are crucial questions for a financial planner. I met mine at a NYSE summit, and with her help, my wife and I reallocated our $1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and a brokerage account. She’s been making investments with our approval and has helped us recover twice our losses. We’re holding steady and carefully navigating more markets

16:27 I don’t think buying is less expensive than building (coz no one would sell their house that they’ve built at a loss). However I do agree in terms of the unknown and the time constraints that comes with building.

15:25 I am saving for an emergency fund of R20K in cash, and i am R10K away from hitting that goal, i will hit it by August 2025. My tip is to automate savings and save 1st before you even pay rent, buy food, spend on anything and leave that money alone(don't dip into it unless it's a life or death situation).
