11:15 That statue walking around is Ninomiya Sontoku! I could never see him as a villain, and he makes sense to be roaming around. You often see statues of him in front of schools, especially elementary schools. He's probably just taking a stroll and studying/reading during the night. As many young children like to say in Japan as kind of a "7 school mysteries" kind of thing. From what I remember, he was a great man. Glad he was included in the game! :D

quick note about this game: it doesn't give you huge overlaying pointers on what to do or where to go. that's all on you, and that includes finding many of the collectibles and usable objects in your inventory. after chapter 2 comes and goes, you should probably consider exploring the town once more and seeing if you can find any random events pop up. (don't worry about the death aspect, though. that just seems to serve as an inconvenience more than anything else.) thanks again for playing this game!! im glad to see that the english translation has stayed true to the original japanese, as well. i hope you're having as much fun playing as we are watching.

I think with all the run down shrines, something DID happen in the town that causes it to be filled with ghosts and yokai at night. Maybe the towns people one day forgotten about their deities and gods, and stopped worshiping them, thus the deities and gods become warped and mutated?

About those spinning head-monster thing, you can throw a rock at them and they'll stop and look at the rock, then you can get past it without it noticing, but you need to run because it'll only stop for 2 - 3 sec

I see her tiny legs just hustling along... she probably never misses leg day, but they're too short to have any stride running anywhere. The boy by the school was really irritating... as boys by schools usually are. Good use of different ghosts in the game & I really am enjoying it!

The reason you go back to the Jizo statues with all your shit when you die is because the statues represent a guardian deity that protects the spirits of Children. So, basically, you are protected from death, or whatever the hell this nightmare is. You may die, but Jizo is there to keep you safe and help you on your journey. And yes, it is benevolent. It's not a "I'm going to make sure that death is no escape for you!" bullshit which I despise...

You might not have figured it out yet, but "tiptoeing" doesn't actually slow you down or anything. What it actually does is lock you into facing one direction, allowing you to walk sideways or backwards.
