I feel like an idiot but just purchased my first Yonex. The Power cushion infinity with the boa dial. I just couldn’t figure out how to release the lace dial until your review. Now I’m so excited to wear them. Thank you.

I'm glad the review was helpful! Haha, yeah it's definitely a change if you are used to just normal laces but hope you enjoy them!

Thanks for the review. One of the objections I've heard to dials is that they break after a few intense sessions and can't simply be replaced in the same way shoelaces can.
@howeezy
@howeezy Ай бұрын
There's actually a warranty on the dials so they can be replaced. But you're right, it's definitely not as simple as just swapping out shoelaces

I had a pair of V2, wore them into the ground and never had a boa failure. I've also been using Shimano road and mtb shoes for many years with boa dials and have never had a single boa failure-ymmv. I'm on the V3's now and they are noticeably more comfortable than the V2. The mesh upper feels a bit more flexible than the V2 upper, and the location of the dial on the tongue results in a better fit in the upper. Other than that- I discovered many years ago that boa dials are a game changer. Instant adjustment on the court for fit, and the tension/pressure on the top of the foot is very even across the entire upper of the shoe compared to laces. It takes much more time to get laces to feel even across the top of the shoe. Also, when it's time to take a break between games, instant release. Same getting ready, very quick.

@@howeezy I ended up ordering the Wide version. I was so excited to try them on that I cut the dial lace, thinking that it was a string attaching the label to the shoe. BOA sent the replacement in a week and I was surprised by how easy they were to replace. I couldn't recommend them enough, so thanks for the review!

Thanks for review, so far i consider buying to buy my next shoes in between 88 Dial v2 and 88 Dial v3 Reason to buy v2 is i love the lime yellow colour and price cheaper for now. Reason to buy v3 is weight are lighter that v2 and the BOA knob are change position. i will choose v3.
@howeezy
@howeezy Ай бұрын
Yeah the white and lime yellow v2 is quite nice. But I think the v2 are maybe only about $20-$30 cheaper right now. I do really like these v3 in the black colorway also

Hey buddy really nice video. I really appreciate you reviewing new equipment for us. if i'm allowed to give some constructive advice. Most ppl would like to know how new equipment feels in your playing, if it is rackets or shoes. And the best way is more comparision with other shoes or rackets from the same brand or other. But in the video we only got 20 sec were you made a very short comparison with the 65z and z3. There are a lot of measuring and didgets going on and how the shoes look. also for rackets. But doesnt give us a clear picture on how the shoes feels and performs. after the whole video i still have no idea how it compares to the 65z you mentioned and if i should consider buying it or not. depends on what your goal is with the video. the video picture quality is stunning. its a perfect advertisement for yonex. But if the goal is to help other players to make a buying discision. i think we would appreciate more details on how the shoe or racket feels when playing from a pro perspective. and some more comparison with other models. that would help a lot. I think for aesthatics everyone can judge for themselfs how the shoe or racket looks like. cky has this same thing were 80% of his videos are just aesthatics and didgets. but the actual insight is very short. so in summary i think we would like to see that majority of the video is more insight rather than aesthatics and numbers. my apologies for the long text. def no negativ intented. just some thoughts as potiental buyer of equipment

Hey Howard! Great review! What do you think of this vs the 65z3 if u were to pick one
@howeezy
@howeezy Ай бұрын
If I were to pick one, I would say the 65z3 just because personally I like to have traditional laces. The 65z3 also still do feel a little bit softer than these 88 Dials by a small margin

I was looking forward to purchasing the v3 once it arrives to the Canadian market. But it never came. Why is not available in Canada? Or am I looking at the wrong place?

did you ever feel the dial on your ankle? / was it comfortable around the top ankle or did it feel like it was cutting into your foot at all?

Honestly the dial is so light that it's pretty unnoticeable. I feel like if anything it's more of a mental note that the dial is there but physically I can't really feel the dial

quick question, how do you protect the sides of your shoes when playing badminton? me and my friends always scratch/slide the side part of the shoe on the back leg, and i wanna prevent that now :'D
@howeezy
@howeezy Ай бұрын
it's almost impossible to prevent sliding on the inside area of the trailing leg shoe if you are executing proper footwork. That's usually where the shoes start to wear down first and it's completely normal haha

I just want to ask you Q What's the differences between ori and copy shoes? In my town, there are lots of copy shoes
@howeezy
@howeezy Ай бұрын
Original and Fake shoes? I mean fake or copy Yonex shoes would not have the real technology like the Power Cushion + support or any of the high quality materials of an authentic Yonex shoe. It might just be painted to look like it but will absolutely not feel good like the authentic pair
@albertwingz
@albertwingz Ай бұрын
If the same shoes price is lower more than 40% in original market price, It is very likely that these shoes are not original. (Because sales also not discount this much) Using material stability and durability will totally different. Buy original shoes with your affordable budget to prevent leg injuries.

@@kennyomega8077 This sounds pretty normal. Since I am right handed, my left shoe also gets torn through in about 1-2 months depending on how hard I am training.
