this is cool, hope canada wins a big international tourney in my lifetime. Wish it got more recognition than it currently has in cause it doesn't get enough praise imo. A lot of people treat badminton like its some super easy kids game, at least in north America.

If the purpose was to promote badminton and bring new viewers, this event was way off the mark. It was perhaps interesting to see the legends interact with each others, if you had known them beforehand. For people who knows nothing about badminton, this was an event where some random nobodies played stupid children games. I have been an avid badminton fan all my life but I was bored to death 5 minutes in. If BWF or whatever organization was behind this is serious about promoting and expanding badminton to North America, bring the biggest active players and let people see how amazing competitive badminton games are.

Players look like they're having fun. But it seems like their mission is to, (1) Level up juniors that are our future. (2) Grow badminton through the community, (3) Bring new people into the game, (4) Apply an innovation mindset to every part of the sport. I don't think these events are doing that from what we're shown.... =(
