Despite the oil issue, I still think this is a decent value. Just showing you how it works, and giving an honest review of it. Under 20 min to fill a 90 cubic inch ninja regulated tank isn't bad, much better than hand pumping!!! See link below for battery size!

I got some good use of mine and it works brilliantly A few good pointers is to use distilled water with regular coolant fluid for aluminum motors Else the aluminum compressor head will be pitted pretty quickly inside, dissolve the aluminum Also let the compressor run freely for at least two whole minutes before starting to pressurize as the piston and cylinder actually needs to get up to working temperature to work best as possible and wear down as little as possible, just think of it like a regular aluminum combustion engine, it is just the same. The water separator you can get to be installed after the compressor, you can get one rather cheap online for just this model of compressor, it is actually just a cylinder that the compressed air gets through the top of and the water then flows down and slowly fills this cylinder the once in a while you just bleed out this cylinder/tank at the bottom and you can also do this with the big tanks if you have a manual valve, just hold the valve downwards and bleed out the water before usage That is pretty much it, use as good quality oil as possible and this will also help with the compression effectiveness of the compressor. I hope you then gets as happy as i do Sorry for my bad English, i don't know the proper English word for what the effect regular tap water has on aluminum as coolant, but grey white scales grows out from the dissolved aluminum and impact the lifespan and cooling performance of the compressor head greatly

Thee water reacting to the aluminium is electrolysis and to reduce it use normal car antifreeze. Antifreeze has a corrosion inhibitor that reduces electrolysis.

I have one of these compressors and I have used it quiet a bit. I added a larger separator that I pack with molecular sieve. A little oil in the condensate bleed and the pre-filter is normal with these compressors. I keep my eye on my oil level and change it often. I also never let my temperature go past 74c. Good luck to you and thanks for sharing.

Very good vid. Ran super cool with out ice. I painted cars. Home. Added a big filter for oil and water. Held a tolit paper size roll. Before painting no air on. I moved a lever on filter to open and any water or oil drained down on floor. Same as the valve on the left. Not air line side. That side should be opened first then the air side next. I had to replace filter every 5 or six times. You will get water and oil on the left side. Never open at at bottle. I just bought one of these. If you open the air line side first you will have more gunk left. Open left side as you look at it from front. Oil water blasted out that side

Thanks! Yup, left side (low pressure) is where most the oil comes from I've found. I've since been bleeding that more often and it seems to help. I just take it slowly and I never used ice....

Add teflon tape to the low pressure bolt and high pressure bolt. Make sure to bleed low side every few minutes with a rag in hand and that should help the oil from hitting up to the high side. Just a thought.

Nov 27, 2021 now...still got the pump..still works great.. But...I have used it to just fill my guns directly... so fast and easy.. 1 minute or 2 and you are ready to shoot again... Only time using the tank is when I go away.. which is rare. so this pump has been used in short spurts for a couple years now.. But.. is fast and I love it.

This unit has been out for a while, most reviews give a positive response, when you are working with 4500 PSI you can expect some blow by of oil, the real culprit is moisture , if you can put the compressor in a controlled low humidity room it will help eliminate some of that, your idea on a larger filter intake is a good idea !

If you keep the black filter and hose higher than the pumps discharge the moisture will flow back into the the aluminum block so it can be blown off with the bleed off knob, and should be done on the high and low side about every five minutes while filling. Keep the tampon prefilter changed when it shows saturation through to the back side so nothing goes to your gun or tank. I use a second filter filled with molecular sieve above the tampon filter to remove any additional moisture. You can also add a layer of carbon below the sieve if the smell bothers you but it won't damage the gun. The sieve I use has color changing beads so it's easy to tell when it needs replaced. I refill my 45 minute scba tank from 3000 psi to 4300 psi in about 15 minutes and my temp is just reaching 60C when I turn it off.

Try leaving a garden hose in the bucket running at a slow rate, enough to keep the bucket full. I freeze several coffee cans and dump the ice in the water to help keep the water cooler. Leave the water return line (the hot water exiting the pump) out of the bucket. You'll see a huge difference in the water temps.

You will have a quite some water splashing around in this bottle, when you do it like this. The warmer your climate is, the more. 20°C air holds 2300Pa of water. If you compress that to 300 bar, that makes almost 7 bars or 700.000Pa of water pressure. 697.700 of which will condense out when the air cools.

HPA / Nitrogen is a Little different than Co2. Co2 is a liquid fill and acts as a refrigerant when it turns to gas. A cold bottle just helps the 2 tanks equalize. Your bulk tanks temperature starts dropping when Co2 escapes. So you chill empty Co2 bottles to make the air inside colder and denser, thus easier to compress and equalizing better with the liquid Co2 coming in from the chilled bulk tank to get a more complete fill. The best thing to do with Co2 is fill your bottle to about 1/4 capacity and then dump it. The rapidly escaping/evaporating Co2 going from liquid state to gas will almost freeze the bottle you're filling. The heat generated by any compressor will heat your bottle within a couple of minutes now matter how cold it is to begin with. Best to get as good a fill as you can the night before and top it off the next day when it's cooled down. Or better yet, buy a bulk HPA bottle to keep topped off and fill your gun from it instead of the compressor. Me, I'd set up a fill area with dryers and filtration duping into 2 or 3 scuba tanks all plumbed together for increased volume then fill from the bottles. Less heat, less contamination to your gun of gun bottle. I have paintball guns worth $2,000 when rigged up that function using electronic solenoids. I'm very picky about the system I charge them with lol

Cooling the compressor is the secret to its survival and performance. I have studied this compressor extensively before ordering as I kept reading horror stories about people frying them so I have modified mine extensively to keep the cylinder temperature down. This includes; using cold water (0-5 degress C) to cool the cylinder. I also installed aluminum fins from an old GPU cooler and stuck them on the metal tubing of the cylinder to dissipate the heat. I added a powerful 12V PC fan that blows air on the main cylinder and the tubes with the fins. I have been using the compressor for 2 years now and it can go up to 6000 Psi with this set-up without any problems. In the future I will add an oil cooler as well and a mini oil pump connected to the main oil tank. The oil I use is the best available; Royal Purple Synthetic. I also apply a cold wet cloth to the front compressor casing as I noted this ends to get hot at high pressures. The cold wet cloth removes laent heat from the casing and I change it every time the cloth feels hotter. The point is; this set-up works very well. One note; I live in a tropical climate with extreme heat and moisture. SO, my advise; don't underestimate the need for extra cooling and you should be fine, Check oil levels at each fill. Most failures are due to improper use. Even the manufacturer I noted gives the wrong recommendations as to the cooling requirements. Better overkill measures than kill the compressor !

First use , I was pumping ice water and the compressor heated up to 60°C in less than 5 min. I shut it down, checked the oil and it was almost black. I too thought I overfilled it. That sight glass is too small so the surface tension of the oil causes the level to hook up at the ends. But I changed the oil and was sure to just touch the dot the second time (that's only a difference of a couple tablespoons of oil). Anyway, I fired it up again. Again, it heated up in minutes. This time I let it climb. Was going to shut it down at 65°C, as per directions. At about 63° C, it started smoking excessively. Before I could get the valve all the way closed on my scuba tank, the motor cut out. That all happened within a span of less than 5 min. I was thinking someone bought it, misused it and returned it then it was shipped to me. I still don't know what's wrong with it. I'm working out an exchange now. Not sure if I want to roll the dice again...

Make sure your water in (from pump) is in the bottom of the upper head, return to bucket out the top, and make sure your oil level is right and that it is clean oil. As long as you don't go above the max temp, it will rise fairly quick, it's compressing air fast! that and maybe try running some ice packs/frozen water bottles like others suggested! Hope that helps!
@claybornlewis276
@claybornlewis276 4 жыл бұрын
Try putting a block of Frozen ice in the water, and letting it get cold before you run your compressor it will last longer if you do.. that ....and it will stay cooler .. I've got a small radiator and a fan on mine, too cool the water before it gets back to the bucket... so it doesn't melt the ice coming in on the hot side. I took the radiator out of an old refrigeration unit , and a fan behind that . just like in a car it cools the water on the hot side when it comes out before it gets back to the bucket. so it doesn't melt the ice..... And change the oil a lot don't let your oil get thin......!and you're cheap Chinese compressor will last you a long time it's not really a cheap compressor just because it comes from China.....you have to take care of it if you want it to last just like if you bought one from the United States... Everybody's always putting Chinese shit down.... some Chinese stuff is pretty good, other Chinese stuff is junk.. it all depends on what you're buying. These compressors are nice if you take care of them, they will last you a long time.... nothing lasts forever especially if you don't take care of it....

How many refills do you get from that 90CC Carbon Fiber Bottle once full? The water and oil on the first stage isn't a big deal as long as you drain it a about every 10 minutes on a big fill. You might consider building a cradle to hold your tank securely while filling. Nice video, thanks for making the effort to put it together.

It depends on the gun I'm filling. It's also 90 cu in, not CC's, otherwise it would be tiny! Stock Benjamin Marauder air tube, I think I got about 4 fills maybe? @@popsfarm916 exactly, but remember that when air is compressed it heats up, meaning when it returns to ambient temperature, the pressure will be lower. Submerging the cylinder when filling helps keep the temperature closer to ambient, therefor losing less pressure when it has completely cooled.

I believe most of these low cost compressors are not rated or intended for breathing air use. From what I understand the air is filtered differently (and probably way better) and I’m guessing it goes through a charcoal filter of some kind to remove smell and taste. I don’t really know anything about diving though, you should ask your local dive shop for advice or someone certified in breathing air.

Oil coming out of the bleed valve is normal. Idk why you are overreacting and thinking there is a problem or the case is leaking. Oil and moisture will build up from all the pressure. And when you bleed. It comes out. That is why we all use a oil/water separator at output so all the junk wont go into our guns. Even high end compressor costing $1000 to $2000 will have oil and moisture when you bleed too. Perfectly normal and not dude to cheap Chinese junk.

How would I be able to tell if I am getting oil or water in my PCP airgun reservoir?
@MRT_H
@MRT_H 6 жыл бұрын
Christopher Renne Usually you'll have to completely drain your guns reservoir, and take the front cap off or tank off and inspect. Sometimes you can tell by firing the gun without a pellet (only air) and if you see a white jet, you probably have moisture in your gun.
@jaxchiro
@jaxchiro 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I am new to this hobby so learning as I go. What is the big issue with some moisture in the air?
@MRT_H
@MRT_H 6 жыл бұрын
Christopher Renne No problem! Biggest issue with water is it can rust parts inside the gun like your steel air tube, and eventually it could weaken it, that and it can mess up your valve. You want to keep petroleum based lubricant out of your pcp airgun, use only 100% silicone grease or silicone oil. NOT the spray you get at home depot..... always check the label, it will say it contains petroleum. The hydraulic oil from this pump has petroleum obviously, however it is high pressure hydraulic oil, so chances of an explosion if it gets in the gun are a bit lower. The best way to make sure you aren't getting anything in your gun is to invest in high quality filters, so they trap all that stuff before getting into your gun.
