Could this be the Yong Heng killer? Seriously, probably not for everyone, but it has taken over a LOT of my high pressure air work around the shop. Light, portable, and most importantly, pretty darn durable. I can run it off my truck, the AC outlet in the shop, and yep, even my Honda Quad, with some special modifications. Some of the marketing is over the top, but I think they have a pretty neat solution for the cost conscious airgunner.

You said 'Chinglish' lol When I was stationed in Okinawa, we called it Engrish. Hey man, your channel is by far the best 'find' on YT since I started following all the airgun gurus and forums. So helpful and thoughtfully done. I really appreciate your approach and style. I'm fortunate to have a friend in a HP cylinder maintenance shop that can fill my carbon tank with NI, but I'm seeing the convenience of a pump now. I'm on board for the GX, when that time comes, I'll use your link.

I keep my Yong Heng far cooler using open circuit cooling. Run hot water to waste and keep your donor bucket topped up with cold water with a hose trickle. Mine runs 20°C cooler. No more hot oil smell. I've been running it 3 years now. It cost me £134 UK delivered and has paid for itself twice over. It's amazing how many of you shooting friends start to call and just happen to have their air bottle with them on their way to the dive shop....detour via my house! I charge them half what the dive shop charges as they aren't putting service hours on my compressor for free. If they want free air they can use my hand pump!

Good on you! running a waste water cooling system here in California raises quite a few issues. It is actually possible to run a pump or engine too cold for the tolerances and lubricants used, not that Yong Heng is the last word in actual "Engineering". I've got an episode planned where i double the area of the radiators, will be fun to see what that does. Keep those pellets flying!

Do you think this would fill a large spare air scuba bottle? Would you trust the filter system for that with regular filter replacement?
@TargetForge
@TargetForge 2 жыл бұрын
@@theshrubbarber5331 Welcome to the channel. This unit is NOT designed for filling large tanks. Half a liter is right in the sweet spot. How important are healthy lungs to you? I would never use a budget priced compressor for air that will touch one of the most sensitive, and vulnerable tissues in my body. A grade D breathable Air filter is no joke, and they "could" filter the output of just about any compressor, but they are not cheap, but hospitals and funerals are not cheap either. www.airsystems.com/index.php/45-pline/grade-d-filtration I presumed you where filling a SCUBA bottle for diving? If not ignore the second part of that. The first part still stands. I know there are folks doing ten minute cycles to slowly fill a large bottle, but that could take hours of your time and would be done better with the right tool. It's meant for filling sub 1 liter vessels, it does that well.

I’m just learning about things right now. My bottle is a 1 liter size I believe. I’m just planning on basically using it in a pool not deep dives or anything. I appreciate the info about the filters. My next question is would a hand pump be safe to use for breathing air? In the instructions is says you can fill the unit with a hand pump, small compressor, another larger scuba tank, or at a dive shop? I assumed since this is an oil less compressor it’s air output would be clean. Thanks!
@TargetForge
@TargetForge 2 жыл бұрын
@@theshrubbarber5331 I've never seen a pump in this space actually say they can deliver Class D breathing air, with test data to back that up. To me, making assumptions about the output of something that you are going to put inside you seems REALLY sketchy. I can tell you I would not do it as a way to save some money. The dive shops and many fire departments have thousands of dollars invested in equipment that is meant for delivering safe, breathable air, see if they can help you.

I have had the GX CS3-I for a year now. I target practice in my backyard roughly 3 times a week with two rifles 250 shots a time. I can tell you this unit and my friend who has the GX-CS2 has been so much better than the hand pump or the hassle of getting your bottle filled for 2 weeks of shooting for me. These new style PCP designed compressor units coming out now are more convenient. If your gun is getting low hook it straight up and you are done charging is 7 minutes for my Benjamin Marauder rifle. I know of some on youtube that fill small scuba tanks and my friend has tried this but my recommendation is fill straight into the gun. If you do that you will have very little condensation to contend with and these units will last a very long time. The cotton filters supplied heep the moisture out pretty well and my filters are never very wet but I added some redundancy with another in line filter off of Amazon Creation Core in line water, oil filter and I can tell you I have had no issues and almost no water. Last recommendation is to buy from his link but make sure and buy off of Amazon, and get the additional 3 yr warranty for $39. Its a no brainer, just in case.

Thank you for your comment T. I've walked both paths, had bottles for years, and will likely continue to use them in some capacity. Once that bottle gets down to your reg pressure, your shooting is over until you return to the Mothership. That little red compressor may take 6 min to fill a gun, but it can do it over and over and over. It works on my truck, my shop, and my Quad, or any other 12V vehicle that might be nearby. Food for thought, I suppose. Have an awesome day!

I want to buy the same to have a better protection when filling my rifle. Thanks...

If you are interested in the 3D printed parts I added to mine, those files can be downloaded for free and printed by someone in Peru. Would be really cheap that way. @TargetForge
@TargetForge 2 жыл бұрын
Well Steve, I didn't answer your question because I have no data to support one argument or the other. Much of the anecdotal information available does not take into account the Yong Heng. The manufacturer says use one oil, some other guy says, no use this oil it's better. Without actual empirical data I'm challenged to answer your question. I know how to test it, and get an answer, but that test requires at least two new pumps, and this channel is not making the kind of money to support that test at this time. I hope that soon I can take on tests like this to test some of the ideas being passed around. Oil has been in my sights for some time. Remember, just because it says compressor oil, does not mean 4500psi compressor oil unless indicated by the lubricant manufacturer. If Bauer or Alkin specified an oil for use in their systems that MAY apply here, but even that is conjecture.

I’ve been using yong heng compressors for a while, and have done a lot of research regarding to what type of oil to use, the manufacturer recommends AW 46 hydraulic oil, problem is it will cause carbon buildup on the secondary piston which will ruin your piston rings, I’m just sharing my empirical information.
@TargetForge
@TargetForge 2 жыл бұрын
@@adrianparache Really not trying to be a PITA, honest I'm not. What you are presenting seems like anecdotal evidence? I really want to put some oils to a head to head test, and I've heard of the carbon theory before, but to date, no one has presented actual data one way or the other. I've run a clone for three years on the cheapest Type 46 I could get, low pressure piston failed due to fatigue. Checked every wear item in the unit and it all looked great, except that huge crack in the piston top.

There are two, maybe three ACTUAL manufacturers in this space located in China. Yong Heng is a brand, Topa is a brand, they order branded units from the same source and depending on their price and option negotiations, you are getting much the same parts. A brand CAN order different options, or "better" parts in some cases, but most of this stuff comes out of the same building, from the same hands. Regarding upgrading the filter, no I do not. You won't see oil because there isn't any. If you are filling guns directly, the cotton, if changed regularly, does just fine. Take the wet ones out, let em dry, put a dry one back in. When they get funky throw them away and you'll be fine.

@@TargetForge cheers for that brother man ,i only did one fill and the cotton cigarette looking filter was fine and the other round one was also clean as and i put a extra flat round filter in the little thing that you put the filters in,yeah the guys with crazy set-ups with twin oil and moisture separators and thermo fans all sorts of stuff ,looks like something from NASA but they are doing diving bottles so are running it for a long time, my 4500psi 68ci tank only took 5mins maybe to fill so thanks heaps for that i will save my 70 bucks and spend it on something else 🙂👍 bloody legend

@TargetForge
@TargetForge Жыл бұрын
It's not really meant for filling bottles. It's intended to fill the gun directly. Consequently I have no data on a fill of a container that large. If you were patient, only running it 20-30 min per run, allowed a cool down period between fill events, it would do it. Getting off the bottle is the secret here.

The large ones are here: amzn.to/3KFeu2A The smaller one inside the filler block might be these? But I haven't tested them. www.ebay.com/itm/194918995659?hash=item2d6213d6cb:g:cM4AAOSwg6tiU1ak To be honest I take them out, dry them, and reuse. There is no oil in the pump, once dry they still work well.

I think you will be fine. From 0 Bar it might take some time and I would switch the pump off after 20 min and let the fans run for ten minutes, then finish the fill. Once you are pressurized and simply topping off you should be well within that 20 min window, probably more like 10-12 min for a refill.

You just hook it directly to the gun? Ive purchased a hand pump for about 105 or 150 on mcsus seems like i got scammed found one for like 50 on amazon. But this machines are so much better

It would appear that you might be buying stuff before you learn what you need and how to use it. To learn how to fill a PCP airgun there are TONS of really good videos on KZbin. Those specs you have quoted seem REALLY low, if they are accurate you might want to return them and start over. What airgun are you looking for? Maybe we could start there?
@TargetForge
@TargetForge 9 ай бұрын
Looks like maybe you are into paintball or airsoft? These compressors can go quite a bit higher than much of that equipment. Hand pumps vary quite a bit on quality vs. cost. One that lasts will cost more, most of us that fill to 4500psi only use a hand pump once, and we are cured.
@-Cutz-

@TargetForge yes paintball but less lethal since owning a real gun is a crime for me since I am a felon in my record sadly and cali bans my firearm rights forever now. But these paintball guns can be modded so high it has a super hard impact up to 100 joules. And well the one I can't mod is a .43 paintball can't be modded really but the first point of defense is just letting the attacker see the gun and he or she will stop maybe. If they have their own gun I ain't doing shit might as well just rob me. But these other ones I'm ordering will be modded very high enough to def drop an attacker. But I'm gonna need to keep filling the air tanks.

I finally got it delivered. Without the converter 🤬. And a red wire sticking out the bottom. I already asked about both problems to the Chinese seller. The advertising clearly saus and shows it comes with the converter So i use 220Volt (i am in Holland). Wnd I hope hé can tell me where the bleep this loose red wire belongs. Its so dissapointing when you wait so freaking long for it. And then it misses a very imported part plus this loose wire touching metal under the red "hood"

I can see how you would be disappointed Ralph. Hopefully you bought it through Amazon so you have some protection through them. It sounds like you got someones return, and not a new unit. I can tell you the AC power supplies I have received have a simple switch on the side that allow the user to select 115VAC/220VAC. If that red wire is ~12AWG it likely goes between the circuit breaker and the motor and should be a pretty easy fix. Check out my video on installing an hour meter as I clearly show that area, and how that wire is attached. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIK7enyGhc1-pc0

@@TargetForge I bought it on Aliexpress. Their customer service has been very good. But its now night there, so i wait. And thank you for the tip of the red wire. My on/off switch "sits" in the Black metal bottom part. In your video its in the red hood. i have the motor out and i will screw out the on off switch, to see if it maybe belongs there . Thanks so much for the respons. And from now on I use Amazon! I recently bought some fly fishing line there. Before, I thought Amazon only delivered to America(haha). I will make this unit work one way or the other. Cheers.

While I can see your sentiment here, making thinly vailed "fat jokes" in a video comment to a man who has survived a stoke, lost a ton of weight, put a bunch of it back on due to severe depression is probably not a meaningful use of your time.

You obviously have a very different idea of what "better" is. If you are comparing the CS2 to the CS3 the CS3 is NOT better. The electronic on that unit fail all the time, biggest selling part I stock. All you get on a CS3 is less airflow for cooling and a pressure set function that will fail in time. CS2 has the same pump, is simple and robust and MUCH easier to maintain.
