Your work fills me with nostalgia. I was born and raised in Yonkers at 15 Greystone Terrace, a wonderful three-story home with beautiful old-world craftsmanship and panoramic views of the Hudson River and Palisades. That's it @ 2:55!!! I would love to visit it again.

Very well done. Those old beautiful homes were majestic. I lived a beautiful one which was sold in the 70's, torn down and is a parking lot, a darn shame. Yonkers should have bought it since it had an Otis elevator in it and was originally owned by them.

My grandparents lived in an apt. at 470 North Broadway back in the 60's. Big old mansions next door. Knocked down & condos built.

mufinski It is but I guess the city started to change & areas that were snazzier started going downhill. I remember seeing an article in the Times back in the '80's that groups of people were chipping in together & buying up these huge old mansions. Fixing them up & living there. Way cheaper & roomier than NYC. I showed the paper to my aunt saying I've never seen houses like that before. She said oh those are in South Yonkers, like eww 😷

I wish someone with artistic talent could go and paint window images on all those plywood covered windows. It's amazing how covering a window with plywood changes the entire structure.

7:37 corner of elm and walnut - where i bought a few thousand comic books - starting with spiderman #37 at $0.12. i don't think that church is a church any longer. but at that time, every Sunday morning, it gave us a glimpse of "real Americans" that had long ago left the neighborhood - LOL.

What a sad state, decades of neglect turned what was once beautiful buildings into rundown shit. And if the outside didnt look bad enough, for sure the interiors have been hacked up into trashy apartments. What a shame

1:22 is particularly heartbreaking. This video contains one example of cheap, hideous remodeling after another, mostly of the aluminum/vinyl siding variety. 8:01 . . . really?
