Good day! I’m from America. Let me tell you, I’m from Christian background. My life hasn’t been the best but I’ve managed it until my baby sister passed on. I hv experienced pain before but never like that. At that point I began my spiritual journey. I came across Yoruba. When I tell you it was a little scary but a whole lot of exciting feels for me. Scary because people here are and is being lied to everyday. They have us believe it is evil. But I don’t agree with them. I don’t know much about the religion but it feels like Home. I learned the importance of true self love. Where a lot of things had to be explained about Christianity, Yoruba seems to resonate with me. I’m learning all I can, but videos like this helps. Thank you for your knowledge.

Its quite unfortunate that this video has been viewed by over 3000 peoples, yet the comment section is so scanty and disengaging, indicating that the rich history shared by the good professor Akintoye, appears to fall on deaf ears. If this were to be a video about useless jokes, dances and street fighting, the comment section would have burst the charts. Africans fail to unite and that is the curse on us black folks, that has become a blessing to our minority oppressors. We are too arrogant, stupid and disunited to harness our potentials to control and determine our destinies. Until we do, the white man will continue to have us from behind at their own pleasure.

Yoruba must learn from Kiriji War which open door to British to attack Ijebuland, the must not happen in our agitation for self determination from Nigeria manufactured by the British.

Oluwafemi, don't be bitter with people for not responding to the lies being reeled out by the erudite professor. Ibadan was never an autonomous state, as he was trying to paint it. Ibadan was a melting pot of all warriors in Yoruba land, who had allegiance to the Alaafin, the Emperor of Oyo Empire. The panegyrics of Ibadan says a lot about frugality of the military and people always on the move. ''OMO A J'ORO SUN'' ''OMO A FI KARAHUN F'ORI MU'' ORO is a wild edible fruit of a forest tree. The conglomeration of warriors under the command of Aaafin's appointed AARE Onakakanfo, usually administered Ibadan with the assistance of Baloguns and other warlords. Ibadan could not initiate war without the consent of the Alaafin. The fact that Ibadan has no hegemony royal family is because Aare Onakakanfo could be appointed by Alaafin from any part of Yoruba land and sent to Ibadan to command and control the warriors. So, the professor's chanting Ibadan did this, Ibadan did that, is a misleading assertion. The credit of repelling the Afonja led rebels and other successful campaigns belonged to all the warriors in Yoruba land under the Commander-in-Chief Alaafin of Oyo, rather than the sonority of Ibadan in the history of the Yorubas..

Moshood Busari Oluwa Olodumare aa se alekun suuru ati ogbon fun yin oo. Out of all he says, your heart won't cry for the loss, rather you'd prefer to raise another Ija Idile. It seems this is a curse. Stop the tension and build peace alagba! Ire e oo!

Mr Moshood Busari you've only just added to what the professor said. He said ibadan fighters. Why would alafin always send Are to ibadan and not Ijebu? It's because ibadan people are the reliable warriors. So if the professor keep mentioning ibadan he's not wrong or would you have expected him to mention ilorin or ijebu? Please listen to understand and not attack or defend unnecessarily. Weldone for being a child of odududuwa who took interest in knowing his history because your contributions adds more value to the lecture, only that it comes in form of attack rather than submission or contribution. God bless.

Yoruba is an illiterate Society. Despite being the heart beat of Nigeria ie Lagos. You still allow foreigners to rule over you. And don't fight for your people.
