Dr. GUPTA, Thank you so much for your videos. In my line of work, fitness is not only important for me but for the people I'm paid to protect. I've been battling ectopics (pvc's) for almost 8 years. I've been "getting by" with my fitness requirements for a while now. I've had every test under the son and told I was fine. Thanks to your video I actually can embrace all the reassurance that I was given from cardiologist. Thank you for all you do!

@Ferris Wheeler Thank you. I've actually made peace with my Afib episodes. I've had several since I was dx with my first one ever in August of last year. I have learnt methods of bringing myself back into normal sinus rhythm. Usually takes from a few minutes up to an hour or so. But I don't panic anymore. I have always had a bit of a phobia for heart disease and so on. And when I started getting ectopics they freaked me out a lot at first and I got scared of them. Now thanks to your videos I know I have basically nothing to worry about and I can finally let this fear of these ectopics go!!

My cardiologist became very excited when I told him that after listening to several of your videos on A-Fib and Extra Heartbeats, I had become bummed out by the idea of having lost 15% of my heart strength until I realized that I still have 85% left and maybe I could strengthen that portion to compensate. I now walk a min of 4 miles 2 or 3 times a week and up it to 5 - 7 miles at least once a week, if not twice. The other days I rest LOL But I do try to be more active overall and I have you to thank for it. After I told my cardiologist about your videos, I told him that I have decided that if I am going to die (which one of the residents had told me was going to happen "soon" the last time I was in Vanderbilt Univ Med Center - Jan '16 - and I had gone around for 9 months, thinking that I should plan my funeral before my cardiologist told me that my heart had repaired itself although it still is in A-Fib so I was NOT going to die...which definitely made my day! LOL), I was going to go out on my own terms and if that meant keeling over from too much exercise, so be it. That was when my cardiologist cracked a joke ... which is very unusual for him ... that maybe he had "created a monster!" ... I did not correct him by telling him that actually it was you who was the creator ;) I always enjoy your videos and am getting a good education from them. THANK YOU, Dr. Sanjay! :D

Dear Dr. Gupta, I have enjoyed watching your videos on heart palpitations and found them to be very helpful. I appreciate your holistic approach to getting rid of palpitations. One question I have for you is if you have found any connection between tyramine rich foods and palpitations. According to some of the internet articles I have read, foods that are high in tyramine such as aged cheeses and meat or overripe fruits, can cause palpitations (and migraines). Thanks again for the wonderful videos!

There was a time when I had an appt at 7:00am. I had a stress test and after that a nuclear test. Suddenly, I realized that it was 2:00pm and my 8-year-old daughter was about to get home, but I was still at the clinic. That's when my palpitations got out of control. The technician said, "Your heartbeat is irregular, but I know that you are anxious right now thinking about your daughter." To make the story short, my test results were normal and my neighbor took care of my daughter until I got home. It was the best time ever to feel those annoying skipped beats because they were able to confirm they were harmless.

I've been told this by my cardiologist 20 yrs ago. I regularly do and play sports, nothing has happened to me so far. I wore a holter upon which I ran my fastest and my heart gave out a huge thud as it skipped a beat. I was certain they finally caught what I was suffering from! Turns out it's nothing. 🤷 As a result, I've chosen to ignore my heart and I've been doing sports for years now.

@@martingeorgiev4120 it mostly feels like my heart stops and then starts working again. The thud is felt at the moment when it feels like it is starting to work again. I've had this for 23 years. Hi Dr Gupta. I've been watching your youtube channel for quite some time now. I've been experiencing ectopic beats for many years and have noticed the burden increase considerably over the past several months. My ectopics actually go away with exercise. Is this reassuring? I just got an echo and waiting for the results to come back prior to a scheduled sestaMIBI scan and holter monitor. Can structural heart disease be excluded solely on an echo or would a cardiac MRI need to be done? If I'm deemed a suitable candidate for catheter ablation, what happens if the source of my ectopics are not LVOT? Will the success rate be less and potential procedural complications be higher? Thanks. Your videos help immeasurably.

Are PVC's considered ectopics? I had up to 40% (40K) PVC's per day at the height of my arrhythmia. But, when I exercised, they went away, most of the time. I did have a somewhat successful ablation procedure and my PVC's went down to about 12% (12K) per day. Considered another ablation but my Cardiologist suggested blood pressure medication to help control the rhythm of my heart. I take spironolactone, bystolic, and losartan. They have virtually eliminated any PVC's over the last 12 months or so. Do these medications have any long term negative consequences?

I have been told by my GP that when I am experiencing these weird heart rhythms that I need to get on the treadmill. (love being a bigger patient and having every ailment blamed on weight!) I get them frequently when I am hungry, or if I have eaten, after exercise, and at night when I am trying to sleep. I originally thought it was from food getting stuck in my esophagus as I have a lap band. I also have a low heart rate for my fitness level, around 50-55 at rest, and this is when my ticker really gets going with extra heart beats! My questions are: can vegas nerve damage/irritation from lap band cause these symptoms (being onset is during hunger/after eating food and there is pain in the top of my mouth/soft pallet from the force of the extra beat) Or can low BGLs (around 3.8-4.1 when I 'feel' hungry) influence the cause of the extra heart beats? I have a family history of heart disease, my father died at 45 years old of a heart attack and had open heart surgery for aortic stenosis (congenital) when he was 17 years old..No one is listening to me and the extra heart beats are freaking me out! (especially when I get pain and dizziness) All my blood work has come back normal and ECG was normal too (was not having symptoms at the time).

Thank you for sharing all your information with the public I know it can be overwhelming due to the high demand of medical help and cost. I have recently been implanted with a loop recorder and your Videos Helped me to better understand my condition. I have been plagued with here in the US. I Train Horses and I haven't been doing as much out of fear from my irregular heartbeats. Sleeping has been an issue too because it happens that I have my symptoms then too. I am 49 and I don't want to leave this world yet like my father did at age 40, in his sleep at that time I was 19. Since I have had a fear of the same thing happening to me. This does not just become a physical aspect of health. It can also affect you mentally. I try sometimes to push and work with the horses like i use to a year ago. It can get to be physically demanding and it is how i kept fit with exercise but now I worry I will have an episode and fall out. To Slowed heart rhythm or my heart just stops. due to irregular beats. I get fast and slowed rhythms spastic sometimes but for a couple of seconds less than a minute, at Random times. No pace maker yet or Defibrillator implants at all. My doctor is using the ILR to see whats going on and then figure out where to go from there. He gave me the Loop Recorder after doing an EP study of my Heart. Again Thank you for educating us on the heart.

I like what you're doing by reassuring people and I agree with pretty much everything you're saying. And you are the cadiologist. Not me. But what about the possibility of catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (cpvt), long qt syndrome, Brugada syndrome, and WPWs??? I know these are all small risks for most people but couldn't it most certainly be a cause of concern for the 5-10 people out of 2500 in the studies? given that it matches the same statistics as some of those diseases?

Dear Doctor Thanks for your video and I'd like to share my experience about pvc. I'm 35 years old, I have always been fit, hard work out at the gym and playing martial arts. I always had episodes of a singular pvc in any moments of the day, not everyday though, but I tell what I actually can feel in my chest. I never got scared and I was just a little curious about theese stronger beats. Anyway, 7 years ago I moved out of my country and I had to stop all my trainings because of my jobs. 3 years ago I opened my own business and I went through a lot of stress. Pvc's became more frequent and often followed by tachycardia. Then I finally decided to put an end at it. I ran some tests at the hospital, we found out that I'm super healthy :), my blood pressure has always been not over 130/85 at 55 bpm. My mythral valve is just a little prolapsed, but according to my cardiologist that's not a problem at all. I decided to go back to the gym, getting fit again, and I'm taking 25 mg of concor. It's almost 3 months I'm working out and taking this beta blocker. I feel great again. Thanks to the medication that also lower down my blood pressure a little and the exercise. I still have 1 or 2 pvc a day not every day. It's very tolerable. My hotler test showed up I had 17 pvcs and 3 pacs in 24H. Not bad at all. I'm very positive about my condition, being more worried wouldn't help, or it actually would give me anxiety and consequently more pvcs and tachycardia. Be positive guys out there, do some exercise, that's the best medicine you can have!

+biopantera: "My holter test showed up I had 17 pvcs and 3 pacs in 24H." ==That's all? I would not bother with a beta blocker. In the video, the doctor mentions 10% and over are considered frequent ectopics. That means if you get 70 bpm, then 7 of those beats are interrupted by a PVC. In 24h, you will have 10,080 PVCs. I would say anything over 2000 PVC per day calls for beta blocker (if the patient is symptomatic).

i get some pvcs during exercise, but they primarily come after working out, upon cool down. i’ll have a pvc every 4-6 beats. i read a study about recovery pvcs and increased risk of cardiac death. i’ve pretty much stopped exercising because of this. i do have history of sudden death in my family. my father and sister have long qt. my ekg was inconclusive, however my genetic testing came back negative for the long qt gene mutation. and my US was normal. i’m not sure what to think anymore /: i really don’t know if i should be exercising. my cardiologist isn’t worried about it, but i know it’s not normal for a perfectly healthy 26 year old to have so many pvcs. my heart monitor showed over 6,000 in one day. Doctor, I get hundreds of pvc’s after excercise. The rate of these ectopics are every 5-8 beats and when you’re heart is beating fairly quick after excercise the feels like every 4 beats. and they occur for hours after excercise. In the gym I lift weights but not super heavy. After a set I put the weight down and they then begin to happen rapidly during the “recovery phase” between each set, so as my heart rate comes back down. They kick off extremely, I just feel like any of these PVCs could lead me into sudden cardiac arrest. Please get back to me doc. Love from Australia 🇦🇺❤️

I'm 23 years old, 1.80 meters tall, and weigh 78 kg. I've been an athlete all my life, but since around 2020, I started to notice several additional heartbeats after finishing my training sessions (during the recovery period). I often associate the first occurrences with my last years of engineering, where I experienced a lot of anxiety. The thing is, since then, despite having overcome the anxiety issues, the supraventricular extrasystoles (PAC's) have persisted. I've been checked by various doctors in different countries, and all of them tell me they are benign or that I don't have enough at rest to warrant an ablation, but this reality doesn't help me at all because what matters to me is to do sports without discomfort or worry. From doing all kinds of physical activity, it's already been 3 years where I've had to limit myself to static weight lifting or very gentle cardio, and this has me extremely frustrated. Every time I push myself a bit further, they occur after the training session. I've never had them during the exercise, it's always when I finish, and living with the constant worry that they will occur is shitty

WHAT IS COMMON RHYTHM DISTURBENSE IN ATHLETE
@gracefurney41096 жыл бұрын
Hi love your videos. I have a question . So I am 21 . I have atrial tachycardia. And frequent atrial ectopics . I have a cardiac linq/ reveal device in which has recorded these events of heart rate of 146-180bpm on rest . I passed my treadmill stress test and I have a normal echo with no structural defect but keep having ectopics all the time . I will have 30-40 ectopics beats a day . When I had my echo I had ectopics every 9 seconds and I also had them in my 12 lead ECG. They are thinking of ablation but they said they will be constantly burning away pacemakers in the heart . I had an allergic reaction to 2 types of beta blockers and they increased my ectopics. Why would I be having this ? I am non smoker, non drinker , non drug taker . Healthy BMI . What would you do to treat me personally as a patient . I’m so annoyed that I keep having ectopics ( like a massive thump) my partner is amazed when he listens to my chest that he said my heart rhythm is so odd . Doesn’t sound normal. Think of my heart beat like the Eastenders soap intro! What does this mean to my health and what should I try speak about with my cardiologist .
