Yes, I have had a very damaging heart attack! I had an extremely clogged artery which could not be unclogged readily. I needed open heart surgery! That was 10 years ago and I recovered in a few short weeks and was able to return to work! I am now 78 and after a year of retirement I have returned to working part time...20-30 hours a week! They tell me I have only 65 percent of my heart remaining but I feel very well and seldom get even a cold! The amazing surgeon did a great job of using a mammary vein to replace what was needed! Wow!! I was 59 at the time of my heart attach! I feel so thankful!!

This happened to my friend. He's in his early 40's, fit and trim, but ignored hereditary high blood pressure for years, went through a very stressful death of his wife, and eventually noticed he was having a difficult time exercising. The day of his appointment with the cardiologist, had a massive heart attack, and quadruple bypass, and has done enough damage to the heart muscle that it will not recover, so now he's in heart failure. Pay attention to the signs, pay attention to your blood pressure, but even better, start improving lifestyle now.

Great video. I am 71 and had never exercised much. Started about 7 years ago. First brisk walking, then jogging, then slow running and nowadays 8 mph. No chest or arm pain. I am knock-kneed and can run up hill, but not downhill or very far on the flat, before I risk a fall. So I walk a 3.5 mile track, and run up each of 6 hills, making 900 m. in all, with 45 to 55 seconds per hill. Lots of panting. So HIIT, done 3 times a week. Initially wanted to lower BP, which worked well, I guess because of short-term NO release due to shear forces on the arterial wall. When an exercise level no longer had this effect, I moved to the next level up. Bought an oxy-meter (to diagnose Covid) but I can monitor pulse with it, pushing it on at the top of a hill. Despite the panting, pulse never exceeds 115. McCardle and Catch say no training effect below 80% VO2Max. Clearly THEY ARE WRONG. Before the pandemic, resting pulse was 54, putting me into the athletic band for my age. Nowadays it often drops to 50. Saw my GP: no sign heart murmur etc. I think the exercise must have: 1 Removed plaque. 2 Grown collatoral heart vessels. 3 Reduce inflammation. I do eat lots of asparagus and broccoli, or bagged salad when losing weight (13 lb this last summer). Eat pungent rosemary ala Acciaroli, steamed for 3 mins. on top of veg. This feels like magic.

Good on you John...very impressive exercise regime and v impressive results, you mentioned "no sign of heart murmur" can I ask you to clarify point made above regarding 'grown collateral heart vessels' and 'no sign of heart murmer', did this mean that you previously had a heart murmur (usually caused by incomplete/faulty valve) and that somehow the exercise cured it by growing new heart vessels? Many thanks in advance for clarifying, I'm interested because I have a murmur caused by a mitral valve defect. Best wishes and continued good health to you.

I've had a Cardiac Arrest , heart failure, and two heart attacks. During a heart attack I threw myself face down on the floor and rocked myself so that pressure was upon my chest as I moved. This because I was alone at the time was the only fail safe thing I could think of , but it DID work and I recovered . I told my doctor and he said that this method helped my heart to resume pumping the blood. This method has worked when ai a cafe, I told a friend to pump my back as I threw myself onto a concrete floor. In the same method as when I was alone at home. I recovered in a matter of minutes. I am now trying to drop the heart tablets I am on Candesarten, Digoxen, Verapamil and Exaralto I consider these tablets EXTREMELY RISKY ! I want to give them up but am advised not to by the medic, because I have ( they say ) Atrial fibrillation, and Arythmia. I would like some suggestions . I don't believe I need to live on all these horrible tablets for the rest of my life .

Doctors in the USA are not taught preventative measures to keep us well. They are taught to diagnose and write a prescription for a drug. A doctor can lose their license to practice medicine for giving natural over drugs. The doctors and drug companies do not want to put themselves out of business. Pfizer made 4.9 billion in profits on the new vaccine only, in the last 4 months.

It has a unique taste in my whole body as my heart surged and pumped so powerfully because I was dying in my head my brain sent crazy signals to heart and it was so scarey. @@chloe7seven22 everyone is different. I am not vegan or keto, but I try to eat more like the blue zones. Some carbohydrates are bad. I eat a little fish, mostly salmon and very very occasionally chicken, But I stick to organic Green‘s, olive oil, a little, and mostly whole grains like brown rice and sweet potatoes. I even eat a few eggs a week. All my symptoms are gone and my cholesterol is down. I used to be on a meat heavy diet in my childhood and now I can’t digest meat. I tried a lamb chop when I was traveling and I got very ill. It wasn’t the meat it was that my body couldn’t tolerate it anymore. I try to eat very small amounts of protein so I don’t get that reaction again. But I don’t crave meat anymore so it’s hard. Whatever works for you is fine. Aloha

Later, I started feeling nauseous, with my left arm in pain but I decided not to tell my mom because it didn't seem likely to have a heart attack at such a young age and about an hour later, I felt perfectly fine, but today my left arm was still cramping and my chest hurt a little every now and then so I decided to tell my mom. I've had history with chest pain in the past but it was nothing similar to what happened yesterday. This video gave me a lot of information and insight to what I experienced and now I've made an appointment to my doctor for a checkup in a few days. Thank you so much :)

I found your videos, quite inadvertently, some time ago, and what a delight it has been. They are informative, easy to understand, and not alarming. You inform us on the root of the problem and what to do. I live in the USA where the approach to medicine is primarily filling the patient with prescription drugs; treating symptoms rather than cause. Thanks for the time and effort you put into making these videos. I really appreciate it. Watching them has become a pastime for me; and one well spent. Thanks again.

I was put on statins, changed my diet which was already just OK to Mediterranean (and) I feel so much better and my numbers are better. My advice is to get a Doctor Who listens like Dr. Gupta and just doesn’t throw you pills or tell you you need an operation. I started listening To Dr. Gupta advice and I’m 72. Thank you for explaining what most of us never really hear or understand when we do hear it. So many important points here that are obvious when you put this all together. I've never heard before that the reasons statins are so powerful is that they are anti-inflammatory ... only that they were helpful to lower cholesterol. It seems like there is an industry of putting out disinformation so that we don't know what the hell is going on and it undermines our ability to act correctly or question the systems in our lives. Why do we put up with this?
