@@YorkReacts I kinda see Mafia as existing in the "Rockstar Universe" so when LA Noire is set in LA in '47 while Maf 2 is set in NY in '45, I see that as conveniently staying away from eachother to allow for imaginary overlap. A setting and place I would love to see in any Rstar game is 70s San Fran. It's basically the only iconic era that hasn't been covered yet. Maf3 '68, GTAVCS '84. So yeah I was hoping for an LA Noire sequel doing a 'Shaft' in the epicenter of hippydom, but since that's likely never happening I'll take a Lincoln Clay part 2 disco boogaloo. Ofcourse it'll probably be set in Italy judging by the title.

And at the same time NY in the 70s was insane. It's crazy to think no GTA was ever set there and the closest we got was The Warriors, which is not an original story so doesn't count. A mechanic which I'm really hoping for is business management. Rackets in the Godfather games, GTA VCS' asset management, GTA SA's cut asset management (yes), Sleeping Dogs' short lived 'Triad Wars' and GTA 5's business management are good examples. Though 5's mechanic was limited to buying the thing and getting popup events and passive legal income, or requiring manual labor to function (sigh), not really spectacular compared to VCS' (and SA's planned) modular illegal businesses. I hope to see a system that really emphasizes player creativity and immersion, allowing them to choose between seedy or "noble" ventures to nail that roleplay feel, while simulating real life historical rackets. Mafia games have so far been prety linear story based experiences, and only 3 dabbled in "non-linear" pathing, bringing some replay value, atlthough artificial. If they make an experience that hits all the right marks, it could go real, real big.

I feel we had enough Mafia with the recent remake. I'd really love for them to remake the Godfather game and Scarface. I had more fun with those games than Vice City and San Andreas.

@@YorkReacts nope, lazy reskin. Copied and pasted the broken physics of M3 as well as reused sound effects and animations. Almost all sandbox missions omitted from the original as well as basic features such as public transportation, discarding weapons, and many more. Although they expanded the story, they butchered the main theme and major plot points which I found disrespectful to the original.

The guy who directed the Original Mafia worked on Kingdom come and is now working on KCD2 if you like the game design in that game uou may like KCD.
