To add, from the "Mafia Wiki", it seems to have all kicked off from the Vinci-Moretti war first, I learned later that Salieri was a capo for the Vinci family and before long, Morello began trying to muscle in on Salieri's operations thus leading to the Salieri-Morello war of 1930-38.

@@DarrylDavis-z9y I based that on what I heard in "Mafia II" pertaining to Tommy Angelo's assassination, I thought that since I heard Vinci was the one who ordered the man to be iced, to me, it must've meant Salieri had some kind of connections to him. Also, technically, Tommy shouldn't have been shot because if Salieri was arrested and brought to trial, it meant he also had confessed everything possibly in a court that had no mob connections, thus, Vinci would've just severed all ties with him since he had opened up under oath (breaking the "Omerta") and left him on his own with Tommy never hearing from any of them ever again.
