In this video we take you along on an action-packed day of Yorkshire adventures on the 4th of July! Starting with a visit to Falling Foss waterfall and their famous tea room for a Cream Tea with big scones and plenty of clotted cream… followed by a drive through Scarborough… a visit to Flamborough Cliffs for some seabird spotting… a trip to Bempton Cliffs for some more birdwatching… a stop in Bridlington for a dinner of award-winning Fish & Chips… then back to our Airbnb for some patriotic cupcakes… and finally a surprise visit from a lovely avian friend early the next morning!
We spend the day with our friends Gary and Debbie visiting from Texas and our Yorkshire-based friends Nick & Jill who we were meeting in person for the first time!

Ooh, those scones with "proper" clotted cream looked amazing!! I lost count of the number of scones I had this summer in the UK. It was a LOT!! I keep saying I'll have to bake my own... 😅

I'm impressed that you can eat the infinite number of scones and still remain so slim, Julie! Well done!

Every time I hear "gannet" I giggle. Too much Monty Python when I was younger. The bookshop sketch. It is an absolute cack. I thought I'd better google cack in case it means something else. Cack in Australian means laugh. In British it means excrement. Actually it means that too in Australian. One of those words that have a double meaning depending on the context. We could say "I had a cack at my mate who'd cacked his dacks". How cool you got to meet Nick and Jill. The fish 'n' chips looked pretty reasonable until remembered it was all in pounds. Oh my, approaching Oz prices there. One of the reasons we rarely go out for fish 'n' chips any more. We do make it at home when we can get some cheap fish and prawns though. Your fish and chips looked pretty good. So did the cup cakes. I think I might go have a chockie bickie.

I think in this instant the Puffins have to share the limelight with the American Hunk and consort. Jill and Nick you guys ROCK. 🇺🇸! What a lovely day out with fabulous people. So pleased your friemdsmgot to see the puffins and add birds to his list. The gannets were gorgeous. We have them in New Zealand too - a breeding colonie. Scones, yes please. Dara that was awesome to watch. And those stone chairs at the cabe, did your wish come true? Fun to look back on this adventure in that lovely AirBnB with friends. Happy weekend and I hope you get your kitchen back soon. 👍🇳🇱🙋🏼‍♀️🥝🇺🇸

Dara, is it difficult to adjust to driving on the left side of the road and navigating the car from the right side then changing it all back in Texas? A LOVELY scenic account of the Yorkshire coast. Thank you for taking the time to share the beautiful photos. XX

@@ElizabethHonoria138 well, a couple days ago I drove for the first time in five months! It hasn't been a problem for me accidentally to drive on the left side of the road... Ian did all the driving in Britain, but then he did some driving in Germany as well. So I think he's adjusted to the right side of the road. No slip ups so far!
