Those Magnificent Men in their Transmitting Machines. I wonder how much Derek New appreciated Ron Goodwin arranging his march? Ron's head was obviously full of The Battle of Britain score when he did this arrangement...although this seems to have appeared in 1968, a year before TBOB was released.

When Yorkshire Television eventually relaunches from Kirkstall Road, THIS will be the first broadcast. And every day after.

It sounds as if the authority announcement has been edited out of this. It would have been at about 30 seconds in, with a long timpani roll behind it. "This is Yorkshire Television broadcasting from the Emley Moor transmitter of the Independent Television Authority."

Yes, Redvers Kyle (or similar).

Never just Emley Moor. Emley Moor and Scarborough, until 22 March 1969, then Emley, Moor, Scarborough and Sheffield, until at least 14 November 1969 if not longer. Exact wording unclear until 1 January 1974, when it was Emley Moor, Belmont and associated.

Hi, do you know if this piece of music is under copyright? I'm looking at using part of it in a video - yet to be made. Thanks Clive.

I had no copyright infringement notification following upload so probably not.
