I had a wonderful Yorkie who lived to be 17. He passed away in 1982, and I still miss him. He was my best friend when I was a child. He was the giant of his litter, and was 10 lbs at full growth. He was very strong. He went pretty much everywhere with me. I got him when I was a little girl. He passed when I was 24. He lead a wonderful life, and was the best dog I've ever had.

I know how u feel my yorkie picked me out the 5 puppies for sale. She was a very loving dog but sadly last year we lost her bc of kidney failure and she was in so much pain we couldnt stand it so we had to put her down. Since then I have yet to sleep well at all and I know that bc when my girls son got hurt by a stuoid driver running over him and he had to be in the hospital i took her dog and brought with me and slept great that day. So i know i need a dog to sleep with to help me sleep and stuff guess its just having a dog that likes to sleep with you. I mean I did get her the dog that she has and that dog knows me well too. I just miss my yorkie so much. I taught her to even fight any kind of ball and even have a video of her fighting a basketball. She would of been 10 years old on veterns day last year if she was a live.

I had a tea cup yorkie. She was very sweet and loved everybody. I named her Tweety after the canary bird cartoon in Warner Bros. because of her small size. One thing I liked about Yorkies is they don't shed. She lived to be 15 yrs old. I think of her often and all those wonderful times we had together.

@@PrettyPink33 I would say it depends on the age of your children and if they are used to dogs. Yorkies are a fine boned breed so they can get injured easily if children were to be rough with them. Dogs only bite as a last resort if they are unhappy with how they are being treated.

My first Yorkies, Oliver and Spencer were my angel babies, even tho they weren’t blood related they were brothers in every way. I lost little Spencer in May of 2016, within 6 weeks to the day my Oliver gained his angel wings. They couldn’t be separated here on earth and they couldn’t be separated in Heaven. Anyone thinking about getting a Yorkie just know they are the very best and can read your emotions better than most humans can. I now have 3 more Yorkies, Gizzy, Paisley and Pebbles, I love them dearly but nobody can replace my first babies ever ❤️❤️🐾

I remember when I was a teenager about 30 years ago a friend of mine's Grandmother Had a Yorkie and that was the sweetest little dog ever wanted to meet and so soft to touch and I noticed every Yorkie I've met since then has always had such a nice personality some of that I know is the way they've been raised as you can change the personality of the dog if you're mean to it or if you're super nice but only if I so much and that means that dog breed is one of the sweetest dogs you can find

My Yorkie, Lucy. Is now 7 years old and she is the bestest pupper I've ever seen! She knows basic commands such as Come (Responds to whistle and clap), Sit pretty (Stand on hind legs for treat), Sit, Stay and lay down. She's a very well-mannered Yorkie and sadly just a few months ago she got attacked by a raccoon, She's up and fine now but she sustained many injuries from that attack. Her ears also had gotten infected with a disease but it has been cured and she is now living her best life with her cat sister, Una.

My Yorkie puppy just turned a year old. He was born on Thanksgiving day. He has been a blessing to me. He is extremely lovable and would like nothing better than to sit in my lap all day. He's also very trainable. He picked up on the commands 'sit' and 'stay' when he was just a couple of months old. He does like to bark when he hears the slightest noise but has learned "No barking" His parents live with us. They belong to my step-son who gave him to me after my husband passed so I could have some companionship. Best thing that ever happened to me. I have been learning how to DIY grooming at home and now I have a grooming table and all the equipment to groom all three of the dogs. I love it! Not to say that I save a bundle of money for the groomers and I do a pretty good job at it at that. He's pretty much as big as he's going to get. He's a whopping 7 lbs. I love him to death. ;)

Our first Yorkie Jake was the giant of the litter, he ended up being roughly twelve pounds, he passed away October of 2019 from heart failure at the age of 12. Roughly a month after we got a new puppy for the family, another yorkie named moose! He's about 1 year old now, he's sprawled across my bed at my feet haha

I had a Yorkie ever since I was 5 years old. His name was Raylan. He was one of the best things that ever happened to me in my life. He loved to snuggle up with me, he loved belly rubs, he was so precious. Unfortunately, he somehow got Liver Cancer sometime around the beginning of March, and we had to put him down a few days later. It was one of the worst days of my life. He was 12 years old. I still have another Yorkie named Rusty, but he doesn’t seem to love me as much as Raylan did. Yorkies are my favorite time of dog breed. They are so adorable.

I love my boy....he was dumped at my house and I didn’t know if I’d like him as I had a 110 pound Pyrenees+huskie+border collie mix and they ended up best friends. She passed away almost 2 years ago and I don’t know what is have done without him. During this pandemic he has been my best companion....long walks to get out of the house and now in the winter we are outside at a local park where he has a new best friend....a 160 pound Pyrenees. They are hilarious together, they play and growl at each other...the big guy tries to play sticks with my Yorkie but the sticks are so big. Normally Ted dislikes most big dogs but he took one look at Diego and knew that D would be his friend. So fun to watch a 160 pound dog play with a 12 pound Yorkie.

Tbh if you have enough patience and know the right method it's not impossible. Sure thing it can be hard,but if you know what you're doing,it should work. I know a few children who trained their own dog without their parents help. You just need the right knowledge and motivation.

MY FIRST LIVED TO THE AGE OF 15 HE HAD STONES AN WENT THROUGH SURGURY FOR A LARGE BLADDER STONE AND LIVED SEVERAL YEARS AFTER. mY CURRENT YORKIE IS NOT A SILKY BUT STILL BEAUTIFUL HAIR AND SMART. THEY MUST KNOW YOU ARE IN CHARGE IS MY BEST ADVICE. ALSO THEY MAY BE SMALL 4 PDS BUT THEY ARE A LARGE DOG INSIDE SO BE PREPARED WHEN AROUND LARGE DOGS TO KEEP AN I OUT. THEY ARE GOOD FAMILY DOGS WHEN PROPERLY INTRODUCED TO NEW YOUNG MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY. SOCIALIZE EARLY, THEY LOVE TO VISIT OTHERS. I JUST LOVE YORKIES!!!!

The funny thing about Yorkies is how they study everything you do. They are quick to figure out simple machines with levers or buttons. They even listen to all your conversations and grow their vocabulary leaving you to think they only understand what you've taught them.

I loved my Yorkie unfortunately she had to be put asleep at the age of 13, due to being bitten by someone else's dog. She suffered very bad injuries to her ribs and lung. I absolutely loved her and miss her.
