In this video the build takes a Impressive turn as we start the biggest part of the restoration, cutting the side of the car off and exposing what's underneath, it seems like too much metal being cut out but its only half way through :)

This stuff is awe-inspiring to me. I'm in the middle of a project where I've cut off a rotten outer sill to reveal much more rot inside, and now I feel like I'm in way over my head. I keep watching videos like this as it gives me the confidence to carry on.

I know that feeling! This channel has helped me hugely: Steve and Ryan make it look easy, which it isn’t, but equally it’s not _that_ difficult either if you just take it one piece at a time. You’ll get there 💪

@@philipthoreau3590I keep thinking about it, but whenever I'm at the workshop I get engrossed in what I'm doing and forget all about the fact that I was thinking about videoing it. But I'll try to keep it in mind now that you've mentioned it.

I was sad to see that the surface rust on the wheel Arch mating section wasn't removed & treated before the weld through primer was applied and the arch fitted, it would have been better to have dipped the car despite what you said at Xmas about leaving the inside of seams unprotected as these are too

It is actually interresting to watch this work on this rotten car. But one question makes me doubt about the sense of this work : Why not simply find another car in good condition, even if it's not an RS2000, and adapt it? How many hours of work for these repairs versus adaptation? I can understand for a unique model but for a Ford Escort? But anyway, really good job.

Always disappointing to see your lack of facial PPE when cutting with grinder and using power file as well as lack of face PPE and ventilation when welding. You should be setting an example to others, especially the youth watching that may be starting in the industry. Come on guys, do better, your great craftsmanship is let down by your safety failures.

Imagine how bad these Fords are, there’s really not one spot that isn’t rotten away. In the beginning of the 2000’s I worked at a Ford dealer and saw the 2001 Mondeo’s after 1 year with the seems of the doors already rusted. Till this days not a Ford for me.
