Love your work and the willingness to share how you go about the processes of rust repair and repair panel fabrication. I notice that in all of your posts, you utilise predominantly, the disc grinder, to remove the affected area. Just curious; do you ever use a plasma cutter in your work, as it seems to becoming a prolific industry tool nowadays? Oh and I marvel at how you and the Team, remember where all the wiring hooks up. Well for one it would cost a fortune. Two can't find second hand good ones as they are still on the shell as there is no need to cut a clean shell up and three if that was the process we would need the floors (as you will see in later videos), sills rear inner arch 1/4 etc so basicly almost all the car so why not just shell it, but by the time you factor into it replacing and transferring all the parts and doing the modifications to it. You may has well gone out and purchased a genuine clean ST, this way is much much cheaper and much more fun for us and our viewers like yourself :)

When this first rolled in I thought it looked great- what on earth do they need to do to it........WRONG. I didn't realise Posches could rust like this, though this one looks to have been neglected somewhat. Loving the videos. Thank you.

Just think how much quicker those MX5s would be if only there was a market for replacement parts - but then we wouldn’t see your skills at fabricating all those strange shaped pieces - well done Steve - and keep telling Ryan they don’t make replacement panels for Datsun.

Hi David Thank you , some of the panels are available but yes the whole idea of YCR on youtube is showing people how to fabricate panels :) Cant wait to get started on your car :)

My main question is: Whst happened with this car? Was it in the water for a longer time? Isn’t Porsche galvanized? Wouldn’t it have been better to replace the hole front? Still, great work 👍
@yorkshirecarrestoration
@yorkshirecarrestoration Жыл бұрын
This is typical for this year car :) yes it would be better to get a whole front end but a good front end is rare and very exspensive as it would be attached to a good back end and if it's got a good backend it would be dismantled for parts it would be a good car as this is the main reason they are scrapped :)

It must be beyond economical repair with this much work needed? The time you guys will put in to this will be immense. If its done at home it’s just materials costs, but paying Someone is another question.

I have a pair of blacksmith horse hoof cutters, used them for years for grabbing those strips. Get a start and just rip the spot welds...

@@yorkshirecarrestoration As a trained toolmaker for a good while I re-trained as a panel beater so grinding spot weld drills was easy so I would drill the Sweld then they would ping off.
