Good no-nonsense review Chris. This rifle is a working hunter that would appear to do the job. Looking forward to the 243 version. Just wonder what it would be like at ranges over 300m?

I'm sure it's an excellent rifle, as Beretta make excellent firearms. It looks like the bolt comes back farther than on a typical bolt action rifle though. I don't know how I feel about that.

10:24 What is the accuracy like? Here in the U.S. we can get semi-auto rifles, so if it doesn't shoot like a precision bolt gun, I don't think there will be much interest in it here.

Look forward to your no nonsense reviews and value your information Chris, I’m deliberating between a Tikka Artic with Iron sights or the Beretta BRX1 chambered in .308 to hunt pig’s .. I’d definitely run an Aimpoint on the Beretta 🔴

A good review of an interesting rifle. I like the switch barrel feature and the price is more affordable than a Blaser R8. It would be good to see this come out in smaller calibres such as .243, 22-250 and .223. Given it is designed for driven boar hunts, I suspect that isn’t terribly likely. Here in Western Australia the government has floated reducing the numbers of rifles we can own. But what they have suggested initially is that one of those rifles can have multiple barrels. Hence my own interest in switch barrel options. Obviously with the current calibre options it is a bit over the top as a foxing rifle. Even so, I would be interested to see how it would go with thermal chasing foxes.

I came at this rifle with a pre-conceived notion of what I wanted it to be and was let down by it when I finally got my hands on it, on seeing this review, I was maybe too quick to dismiss it and should take a more open minded approach…

Very good review! Now, if they would chamber it in 6mm Remington or 6mm creedmoor or my first choice 260Remington I would order one tomorrow morning. The straight pull and being able to change barrels in my opinion is priceless.

Nice review. Was very interested, esp. as a left hand shooter, but an orange plastic magazine on a $1,500 USD rifle is a deal breaker for me. I'm sure it works fine, just can't get past it.

To pricey in Australia we are getting asked $2500+/- for this thing and it does not have the features or accuracy to justify it even though the straight pull is handy for pigs.

Great review as always Chris. I don’t like the way the scope mounts. I’m surprised it keeps zero so well. The vast majority of straight pulls are used for Boar so would probably only have a LPVO fitted.

The LOP is good, especially after I took one spacer out. Other than tha, it's a typical cheap and nasty polymer stock. Id pay another $500-700 for a carbon Fibre stock and then it would be so much better and yet still cheaper than a Blazer The weight reduction would be well worth it as well. Why are you reviewing a rifle with a suppressor on it? 99% of the people who might want this rifle do not have a suppressor. I will never own one due to the ridiculously high price of them & the cost of the NFA tax stamp to own one. A suppressor should not cost $600.00 to $1000.00 for something that probably cost $100.00 to make. Your review is not accurate with that on the end of the barrel.

This is such a goofy comment. You can find decent suppressors for 400-650. If you make 1k a week, just set aside 25 per week/100 per month. After 6-8 months you can afford one. Especially with these fast approval times, there’s no reason not to. Plus, other countries exist. Also, they cost more than $100 to make. You need to pay for tooling, labor, quality control, and the logistics of shipping them. Not to mention insurance for your company. And that’s assuming you don’t have other overhead like leasing the building you’re operating out of.

I must say I like this offering from Berreta. To improve the ergonomics of the stock it would be great to have a height adjustable comb similar to Savage Impulse or something similar to the Blaser R8 and also have interchangeable hand grips like the Tikka T3x. "Better ergonomics leads to better shotting both at the range and in the field" is something to strive for in aspects of the shooting and hunting sport. Already thinking this rifle would be great to have with a GRS Bifrost replacement stock, love that handgrip and offset angle. Now back to your review. I do partially agree with your comments regarding thumbhole version for straight pull if you on a driven hunt only, in other scenarios the thumbhole is superior. I enjoyed shooting the Blaser R8 with my only issue being the lower part hand grip (similar issue when I shot the Sako s20), interchangeable hand grips would be the only improvement to R8 which to me is the "almost perfect" hunting rifle. The best simple handgrip from a factory in my humble opion thus far for me is actually from the CZ 600 Ergo, the best part of that stock. Hopefully you pass along genuine comments from subscribers and viewers as list to various manufacturers to improve their products for all shooters when you are finished testing various products.
