Really interesting video - the images are stunning (would appreciate more key words written on the images as you narrate to be able to look them up for further research) and the narration is captivating. Well done! 👏🏽 🙏🏽

Hi Asar, In the section where you spoke about the judgment (where feather is lighter than the heart) and the animal devours the person, what does that actually mean in reality as alot of people always equate this to Everlasting Hell fire? Or is there no eternal suffering in the after life?
@AsarImhotep Жыл бұрын
Peace and blessings. Thank you for watching and for your inquiry. It is kind of hard to say what it actually means as the Egyptians didn't tend to place exact details of what things mean in their texts. I know Dr. Kipkoeech Sambu gave a hypothesis that culturally makes sense in that the ancients, as well as the current Kalenjiin, who used to live in ancient Egypt, believed in reincarnation. What was considered "hell" was not being able to be reincarnated into your family bloodline. As nomadic pastoralists, they didn't have elaborate burial rites. So they would leave the body of corpses to be eaten by a number of scavengers in the open. I think the "monster", which was a composite of various scavenger animals, plaid this role in the burial rite. It is as to say that your lineage would not continue on and you would be devoured by the scavengers. I need to look more into this.

@Asar Imhotep Thanks, that makes alot of sense. It sounds almost equivalent in my Igbo culture, where people who have commited an abomination in society are exiled into the evil forest to never come back into the community.
